From Blackberry to Command

OK, I know there have been threads about this in the past, but I can't seem to locate them with the search function.

I am trying to sync my address book from my BlackBerry to the Command system, but I have been unsuccessful. It will connect via Bluetooth, but will not transfer the contact list. I have tried to troubleshoot with the owner's manual, but could not figure it out. I remember others saying that they had to upload the contacts via a media card... Could someone elaborate on the steps taken to do this? Do I need to "export" my contact list from my BlackBerry to my computer, load on a memory card, then transfer to the car? And does anyone know if I can just use a USB stick via the USB interface in the glove box?

If anyone can point me in the right direction I would greatly appreciate it.

Cheers!

use the command system to transfer, as long as your phone is connected go to phone options and it should be there. otherwise go see your dealer. unless its something with maybe a way older BB then no idea. i had a bold 9000 and now a bold 9700 and no problems with any....

Unless there is something different about your 212, then you should just be able to download from mobile phone. This is done after you pair the phone, then go to download contacts, then you should be able to choose "from mobile phone". Let me know if this doesnt work. I have done it with all types of Blackberry's.

I am using a BlackBerry 8900 that was purchased new in July of 09. I can pair without a problem and the phone works for received and dialed calls, but to dial a saved contact I have to dial from the phone since the contacts are not in the car's address book.

When I follow the menu option to "download contacts" on the car while the phone is paired, there are 3 options listed: From mobile phone, from the memory card, and receive business cards. But, the only one available for me to choose is the "receive business card(s)" option... the other 2 are grayed out and I am not able to select them.

I have tried to "receive business card(s)" but the system goes to a ready to receive screen and sits there doing nothing.

If no one else has experienced this, then I will go to my dealer and have them figure it out...

I appreciate any input you all can provide.

Cheers!

The business cards option is how I got my contacts into the book. I don't have a Blackberry, mind you. But from what you said, I followed the same procedure, but then I had to "send business card" on my phone. The car received them just fine. Had to go through one at a time, but it worked and all my contacts are now in the car's system. Sounds like maybe you just need to send from the phone. Unless I'm misunderstanding you.

Don't you have the option to select all contacts first and then send as business card, all at once? My phone has that option. But my phone also supports the new BT address book profile which allows all contacts being pulled from the head unit menu.

That's not an option on my phone. It's a pretty basic phone.

Sounds like it could be something with the software on the car. Any BB that I have ever paired has always given me the option to download from mobile phone. To my knowledge there is no way to send as a business card from the BB. If it's not to inconvenient you might want to swing by the dealer and have them check it out. Also, might want to swing by your provider's branch to see if you have the latest software on the the BB.

Is it a CDMA phone, which provider, some of these disable odd features from the phone.

Can you have the phone SW updated, perhaps there is a fix available?

Went to T Mobile and updated the software on her phone. Still did not pair. Called Blackberry and was told that her phone will not pair and a new phone would be the answer. My dealer provided me a list of phones that work normally with the MB system and also noted that some others may work also but must be tried first. The ones that work are the 8300, 8310, 8320, 8800,8820,8830,8900, and 9000. All Blackberrys of course there are others from other mfgerers.
