Hi All ...
I would like to know if anyone knows how to have the E350 arm the alarm system by itself once I've walked away from the car?
I've sometimes wandered off without locking the doors and I want the car to lock itself to help my sometimes forgetfulness.

I know the pre 212's arm themselves up after a certain short period of time, in case you forget. I'm sure the new E shouldn't be different.

After having a W211 for 5 years and a W210 before it for 4 years I can say that I have never seen the alarm arm itself unless the car was locked with the remote (no keyless go in those). I do know that if the car is unlocked with the remote and not driven it will relock itself after a period of time and reset the alarm at that point.

After having a W211 for 5 years and a W210 before it for 4 years I can say that I have never seen the alarm arm itself unless the car was locked with the remote (no keyless go in those). I do know that if the car is unlocked with the remote and not driven it will relock itself after a period of time and reset the alarm at that point.
This option does not exist in current and previous models.

The car locks doors itself if the door locks are first unlocked from the remote but no door is touched (opened). In this case the car knows that nobody is inside the car and it is safe to lock it (the driver probably forgot doors were opened and walked away for something else).

And nobody would want the car locking on its own accord when you don't want it locked.
