Edmunds Inside Line has a couple renderings of the M5 with some speculation about what will be under the hood.

With the DCT and (maybe) KERS, it will be a much better performer than the current E60 M5. And maybe 570 hp with even more potential FI modding, it should be something else.
The upcoming W212 E63 TT and the F10 M5 TT will be more in the same league than ever; great for consumer choice.
p.s., I saw a mule on the 101 freeway in Camarillo yesterday on my way to SB. It was a BMW sedan, maybe the M5? I couldn't get to my camera in time and there was too much traffic...

I just want to post these pics here with ONLY edited P.S rims. I actually am not even concerned about the rims, but these pics, and especially that beach profile shot (which I haven't seen before) look STUNNING. I am so excited for this car. And again, we haven't even seen the Sport OR M-Pack yet!!

Those last pictures of the 5 look pretty good but the video really didn't do much for me. Somehow, as so many have already said, the thing just looks like the 3 Series which doesn't move me. Sometimes you just have to see a car in the flesh to get a proper reading so I will reserve final judgment until I see the 5 Series on the road.
To that point, we are in Florida for the winter and there are a LOT of new E-Class MBs running around down here, at least where we're staying. Prior to arriving here I'd only seen a couple on the road back in Toronto. Now I see several every day. Gotta say, the new E-Class shows very well in real life. The idea that it looks generic, like a Camry, Hyundai etc., just doesn't survive the real life road test. There's no mistaking the E-Class for any of the lesser cars it's said to look like. It just pops out at you from every angle; it's a very imposing design, in your face like the E60 was, but much easier on the eyes.
This will be an interesting battle. Right now, MB has the lead by virtue of having it's product in the showroom and on the road.
I'm a BMW guy but I'm leaning very much toward the E-Class at this point. I'll wait to see the 5 Series before deciding but that's how I'm feeling at this point

I still think, when you see the F10 on the road, and next to a 212, etc. it won't look boring at all, it will show like those pics, which IMO look amazing, and have a cleanliness and "purity" lost on the more mechanical/robotic 212. Also, BMW keep using these bland colors to show us the car, it's gotten boring to see it with the same setup every time. M-B showed the E-Class initially with tons of different colors, and different Packages. We haven't seen any Sport or M Package for the Bimmer.
LOL. Nice
Unguard Sir!
You have my favorite 212 so far, honestly. Like explained in the other Thread. Perhaps your impeccable Photography might have something to do with it. I'm just not vibing with the over-styled AMG Packages running around as Standard form, and am already fore-seeing myself getting tired of them. Your car comparatively gives me a feeling of CLASSIC M-B, which was lost on me with the 212 before, I "feel" and see that from your car though, classy.
