2010 Mercedes-Benz E350 4matic
Price Advise

Hi, I am shopping for a 2010 E350 4matic and want to know what others have paid for their MB E350 especially in the North East region of the USA.

The car I am looking at the moment MSRP'd at $62,065 with the following options.

-Premium 2 pkg
-Sports pkg
-Massaging seats
-rear folding seats.

One last question, I really like the E550's wood steering wheel and was wondering if this would be interchangeable with the standard steering wheel that comes with the car.

Thanks and hope to join you guys in the near future.

D.

Not sure how you get to $62,065 when MSRP on the car with the options you listed according to MBUSA.com is $59,215 with the equipment you listed plus upgraded to leather and metallic paint which is $2310 alone and transportation cost of $875. So either you are leaving off some factory or dealer options. Yes wood steering wheel is a $750 option.

but sedan can be had for invoice or under invoice easy depending if you are a USAA or Costco member. Costco price is invoice, USAA is $2k below invoice. The difference between factory MSRP and Invoice is about 7%. Dealer installed options are a totally different ball game as those can have mark up of 100% or more.

Pricing will vary by market. I am refering to the dealer discount not MSRP. I too do not know how you got to your pricing. Believe Sport and Luxury are the same price.

mcdohl and sosh, I just double checked the options and yes I did leave an option out which is the panorama roof, which I believe is a $1070 option. Sorry about the confusion and thanks for the answers. I have offered them $55,700 which is $2000 below invoice. I am waiting for an email or a call back.

A very fair price as long as you don't buy all the BS add ons at the end of the sale.

Yes, I never buy the fluff they try to sell you. Its come down to a new low, some of the F&I guys now have demonstrations in their office. The last guy I bought a BMW from had a bent rim as a show piece and a cardboard paper with teflon on one end, which he would dip into coffee to show how teflon repels stains both outside and inside the car. But I digress, I do believe it is a fair price but I have not heard from the dealer as to accept my offer.

The thing that complicates my purchase is that I have a 1 year old TL that I am trading in that has only 5000 miles and a lot of dealerships get skeptical as to why I want to trade in a car with so less miles. Made a wrong choice and just want to take a financial bath and move on.

Most dealers won't quote their lowest price over the phone because they assume your going to shop it around and never come back. Focus on getting the price on the new car 1st then negotiate the trade in. Find out what your TL is really worth before working the deal. If you don't like the deal then walk. Salespeople are more likely to give you what you want at the end of the month so they hit their quota .

Totally agree. I have shopped the TL around and everyone is willing to give $31K for it easy so I have told this dealership that I want $32K just so I have leeway. I am though focusing on the price of the MB at the moment. I told them that if the price on the MB is right, I will come down and then we can talk about the trade-in. To keep them honest, I told them that if I don't get the fair price for the trade-in, I may just keep it.

I have been very honest with them and have told them that I am price shopping and who ever gives me the best deal will get my business. Its as simple as that and if we can come to an agreement on pricing over the internet, the tough part is done and it will be the easiest deal they will ever make.

Will see if this works or back fires on me. Tsk Tsk Tsk....

Most people can do much better than costco's auto buy program since your only getting the "made up" invoice price. A good deal is roughly 2k under invoice.

How would you start negotiating? For the 2011 model, they said you can order now for Aug delivery but they don't have pricing. Do you ask them to quote you invoice minus 2k? I'm about to pull the trigger.

It's a matter of supply and demand. Right now it seems like the MB dealers have more supply of 2010 E's than demand so they're willing to deal. A 2011 E may be difficult to get even invoice (if anyone knows it) because dealers will first want to move their current inventory before discounting new.

I have to admit a 17% income tax rate rocks! That's how I can justify spending $160,000 on a E class.
