Set the Navigation to avoid highways??

On my W211, there was a navigation option that would tell it to avoid highways when finding directions. Does the new W212 have that as well??? I can't find it.

Once in Navi mode, scroll back up to Navi on the top row and select it. A sub-menu should pop-up with the settings for the mode, which you'll want to set to avoid highways.

Wait, how to you do it on a 211's? Even on the pre-'09 uber-crappy DVD based Navi you can do this?

Go into the Nav menu, and then to "mode," and then you'll get a menu on the right side and you can select or deselect highways, ferries, bridges, tunnels, etc..

That's on the 2009 W211 COMAND nav which is the same system as the new W212. Don't know if you can do it on the older DVD based nav; but the menu select should be the same(?) If it doesn't appear, then I guess not......

Check page 111 of your COMAND manual: NAV – Mode – road types to be avoided menu – avoid freeways (as suggested previously)
