Yes, I agree that the new W212 looks very sharp in White. It's interesting to compare the very striking front end of this car with the new 5er, which has a strange cut line right across the hood, just behind the oversized kidney grills.

It's due to the EU Pedestrian Regulations (the cut line on the Bimmer). I agree it's kind of an eye sore. It is however the same Law that forced M-B to design their cut-line at the side of the new E, which is also an eye-sore in some angles IMO, however, at least in the Benzes case, the trade-off is an uninterupted, cleaner front end view.

I was going to get a BMW for my next car and it came down to 5er or E class, but something doesn't look right with the 5er IMO ,especially the front end and I ordered my E.

Yes, I'm aware of the EU impediment for creating an attractive front end design. But MB has IMO been much more successful overcoming those restrictions by creating a better looking front end than BMW has done with the 5er. That "eye sore" of a cut line on the 5er looks like a Bangled remnant - all the other lines around the hood are curved, but for this disturbing line.

Thanks.
Actually I didn't get the Windshield done, I think it's just a reflection of how dark the rest of the windows shade the interior, lol.
Not only is the windshield not Legal in Cali, but the front windows aren't either. Many people have them done, and I've had them on all my cars, so I'm crossing my fingers that Cops don't hassle me for them. With the rear lights, it could be a pain in the butt.
My W211 had the same setup, and I never had a problem, I think with the 212's more "assertive" look, and the color combo (Pewter kind of gives any car a subdued aura IMO, plus, White really makes the Black show off), with the LED's, and maybe more noticeable design by the Police, due to them not seeing it for 7 years (like my 211), it might be a bit less under the rader.... But I'm hoping I don't get pulled over for them.
One thing to note, this is the exact same Tint combo I had on my 211 (same darkness, etc.), and it's MUCH harder to see out from the 212 so far at night, I dunno if the stock windows have a stronger Tint, or something. It's mainly the rearview mirrors (especially the drivers one), they really do a great job of tinting to the point of other cars headlights not being a bother.... I've now noticed, with actual window Tint, it makes it so cars behind you seem like they have incredibly dull, almost non-noticeable Headlights.
