2010 E350 sedan
New to forum: Sport vs. Comfort mode question

I recently acquired a 2010 E350 Luxury, rather than Sport. I would swear that more than just the gear change points are different when I elect to be in "Sport" transmission mode. The ride tightens up significantly. Is this my imagination? Thanks in advance. Great car, BTW. Perfect, so far.

Unless you have Airmatic, when in Sport mode, the ride is not tightening up. I think the controls for Airmatic equipped vehicles are separate for suspension and transmission.

Suspension, body and etc, are already hard-coded more towards comfort on the Luxury Sedan . But on the Sport Sedan, they are hard-coded more towards handling. Switching between C & S allows the transmission to provide slight changes to go between tight-handling and soft-comfort rides, so the difference in the feel is normal. Generally, Comfort and Handling are mutually sacrificed. Ask any 1990 Miata owners like me. It was strictly designed for handling and handling only.

^^This is correct.^^

Separate C/S button for the transmission (resets to C everytime you restart engine). Comfort/Sport suspension setting at least stays put when set.
