I have a 2008 E350 Wagon. The keyless go system does not seem to be working. I have to hold the key next to the door for it to unlock. Often while driving the car, the warning light will go off saying "Key not found".

The dealer has tried to fix it. They replaced the driver side door handle, yet the problem did not go away. The dealer blamed a shiny key chain for causing interference. The batteries in the key fob have been replaced twice.

Anybody else having these problems?

 

Do you experience this problem with both keys? If just one malfunctions, the key may need replacement however if both malfunction, the problem may indeed be as manual explains if no fault codes were found. BTW you should be posting in W211 forum.

 

have you had the windows tinted? sometimes that process has been known to get water in some of the antennas.

keyless go on my e550 sedan has never had problems like you decide.

 

Better to post in W211 forum, W212 may not have such problems.
