211 Wagon vs. 212 Wagon
I am about to purchase a 2011 E350 4matic Wagon with P2, Sport package, leather, and wheel package. I will be trading in a 2006 E350 wagon with appearance package, Full DC airmatic suspension, leather, and Command.
For anyone who has moved from the 211 sedan or wagon to the 212 sedan or wagon what has your transition been like? Have you adjusted to the change in location to the gear shift? Do you think I will miss the adjustable Airmatic suspension? Those are my biggest concerns. I have had a absolutely great ownership experience with the 211 E350 Wagon. It has been particle, fun to drive, and has had no mechanical issues (the only time I took it to the dealership was for service and the service bulletins).

To answer your question about the shifter. I really hat to admit it, and as much as I detested even the thought of it, I find the stalk shifter to be great and very fitting on an E-Class. It feel very appropriate to a mature Luxury Car, and kind of sets the car apart from many others. At the same time, you might find yourself missing it if you like to hold onto it while you drive, etc. It keeps the feeling of the interior very serene and open/airy feeling, and IMO adds to the sense-of-occasion. Again, at the same time, one might find it to bring up feelings of boredom.

The suspension on my S212 is perfect even with 18". The fact is that the estate version gets self leveling air suspension for the rear axle as standard.
It's a fantastic car! Go for it...

According to MBUSA, they may actually bring the E63 wagon to the USA now. That would be tempting for me. I wanted to buy a W211 E63 wagon last year but I couldn't find one. In the US, they only sold 24 last year.
So, with those low sales numbers we may not see one here after all.
