Pre-paid Maint
I'm about to take delivery on 2011 E550 Cabrio and talking to dealer about prepaid maintenance. Wondering if any of you are running into a similar predicament whereby dealer is saying prepaid cost $1089 for A/B/A service over 3 yrs 30k miles yet MBUSA has it advertised for $769. This begs the following questions which I hope the seasoned vets on this forum can answer.
1. Have any of you received similar information when inquiring about prepaid maint and if so what were you able to negotiate your price to.
2. How much does A / B service cost on E550? On my CLK500 I pay about $225 - $250 for A and $400 - $450 for B service and that's without discount emails I typically get from area dealers.
Realize this is the W212 forum but much more activity here than on C207 / A207 forum.
Thanks,

I'm just starting to get back into the market for a new MB myself and have been contemplating this same issue. I like the idea of my maintenance being paid for up front and not having to worry about money issues when the servicings come around, but my dealership is frequently sending me coupons. For the past two years I've paid half price for the servicings on both my MB's and easily saved more than the prepaid maintenance package would have saved me. This is obviously a plus, but the downside is that I'm never sure if I will be receiving a coupon, or if I will have one when the time comes for my vehicle to be serviced.
I guess you could say that the prepaid maintenance is more about convenience and peace of mind. You do save money up front, but just like anything these days, if you search around long enough you can save a few bucks here and there, but will it be worth the effort in the long run?

mg-E550 - Wondering why brake fluid would be changed after only two years of service? I realize brake fluid does attract and retain moisture but never in such a short time. Did your service department give you a reason for flushing brake fluid after only 2 yrs? On my CLK dealer didn't make a recommendation to flush brake fluid till my 4th year of ownership. Maybe it was because I only had about 15- 18k miles on my car at the time but more likely cause of the age.
