Slight 'humming' when car is off and parked?
Have occasionally noticed a 'slight humming' coming from the engine bay when the car has been off and parked for a while in my garage. Normal? What is it?

humm
I think I know what you're talking about. Its a very subtle hum coming from the engine compartment.
This isn't an engine cooling fan which is much louder. I've noted this hum after my car has been parked for a couple of hours and I open and close the doors. Seems to last for several minutes.
I figured it was normal.

I don't remember mine doing that, I will check it out. I remember an optional button (don't remember the name) on my sold C230 to maintain a desired temperature inside the car for a limited amount of time even after turning off the engine. I don't see a similar option in my W212.

i spend numerous time in my benz with he engine off.
and i can hear it on the inside too.
i got me wondering, and i tried to pinpoint the sound.
my guess by now is that it's a little interior fan, refreshing the interior air.
it stops after some time until i put the contact back on and put it off again.
time differs though. sometimes it does it for 10 mintes the next time it stays on for just 2 minutes..

The feature you are referring to is available only on the Canada E-class according to the owners manual.
