Being that it's a glass, I assume it need more or less, no special treatment.
For "polishing", i.e getting out some rougher stuff off of it, I'd think to maybe use a Cleaner Wax (kill two birds with one stone).![nix](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/nixweiss.gif)
On that note, is it recommended to Wax a Pano roof at all?

I seem to remember there was something in the manual about certain cautions re: Pano roof. Best to look it up before using anything else besides soap and water.

I had my maid read me the following from the manual.
fwiw, the pano is glass. Just use a glass cleaner like Stoner's Invisible Glass; clay bar the exterior glass once a year to get rid of embedded pollutants.![slap](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/slap.gif)
2010 Manual:
Cleaning the panorama roof
The rear part of the tilt/sliding panel has a
protective layer on the inside.
X Use a soft, clean cloth and a mild window
cleaning solution.
An automotive glass cleaner is
recommended.
! Do not use a dry cloth, abrasives, solvents
or cleaners containing solvents. Do not
touch the protective layer with hard objects
such as an ice scraper or ring. Never apply
strong force and only use a soft, nonscratching
cloth when cleaning the rear
part of the tilt/sliding panel.
Otherwise you may scratch or damage the
protective layer.
2009 Manual:

And yeah, the pano is the same unit on the W211 and the W212.

Bringing this back up. If I Clay my Pano roof (or even windshield, windows, etc.), do I have to do anything to seal it afterward (I know I can't use Wax, per the manual)? Can I seal it with a Polymer Sealant, or would that mess up the oils and stuff as well?

Polymer paint sealants are made to bond with your paint. Applied to glass the next time you use glass cleaner it will just strip it off. Diamondite has a good reputation for their glass care products. They have a complete kit that contains clay, clay lube, glass restorer and a polymer sealant for glass. Honestly though with cars this new just cleaning with a good cleaner should be good enough for years. At the point you have water spots or mineral deposits that won't wash off then it's time to be more aggressive.

Cool, thanks. Claying the ride today, and not sure if I want to chance it on the Pano roof, or windows, etc. I feel like "Sealing" them with something would be smart, but I don't have anything for glasses to do so. Then again, I also think that I might be overthinking it, and I could just do some light claying on those areas, without going over it with anything afterward.

Here is something that might just give that extra bit of protection to your pano. PPG Aquapel at www.aquapel.com supposedly gives longer/better protection than Rain-X. PPG is Pittsburgh Plate Glass been in buisness a long, long time. Should mention I have not tried it.
