Music registry question and 'sd slot'?
What can you put into the music registry?
1. Can you copy songs from Ipods and Iphones that are plugged in in the dashboard onto the registry?
2. Can you copy songs from CDs in the the music registry?
3. How much memory is in the music registry?
4. Can only music files be copied onto the registry?
Ok, now the slot - it is waaaay too big for a standard SD card so what kind of card goes into this slot and what information would you put on a card and put it in the slot?
Thanks in advance and sorry for the dumb questions!
BTW, used brake hold function for the first time today, pretty freaking cool.

Hi MCF,
You need a PCMCIA adapter, in order to use an SD card. It looks like this:
I think any PCMCIA will work on the E class so you just need to make sure it will work with whatever SD card you plan on using. There is plenty of info posted already about brands, where to buy, cheapest, compatibility, etc.
Great car btw, have fun with it

Music Register Display
This is in the manual, but not an option on screen when you use voice control. You can advance to next "folder" using voice by saying "next folder." Display options are set up for CD's.
One caution. Folders are set up by artists name. So, if you record CD's, etc. that have more than one artists you need to select the destination folder before starting recording. Otherwise, it will go to "Various" folder. Then when you bring up the Music Register listing, you'll have to open Various to see what is in it.
Also, you cannot delete "files" (CD's) from folders, only individual tracks.
Very "entertaining" system, but somewhat complicated.

Has anybody tried a PCMCIA to USB adapter in the slot? I was thinking that I could then plug in my iPhone via USB and; 1) not have to reach over to the glove box, & 2) play music from apps like Pandora.
I may go ahead and try it, they only run about $20 anyway.

I streamed audio from the iPod app on my iPhone over bluetooth audio this morning and I assume Pandora would work as well. I'll give it a shot on the way home...
The music registry on my 2011 E350 is 10 GB.

Yes, you can stream Pandora over bluetooth audio, however, there seems to be a bug in the MB software, I have to de-authorize/ re-pair the phone every time I turn the car off. Just thought it might be easier to plug it to a port I can reach.
