Safety issue. One problem with bright/white interior lights is that they compromise your night vision.
I've got burl wood trim, so the light looks good to me.
Have a friend with an Acura and his dash is black. The ambient light is about the same as in my MB

If I was planning to swap out my interior bulbs to LED bulbs...do the LED bulbs need to be the error-free type? Or just regular LEDs is ok? Is there a "lamp out sensor" for interior bulbs?

I'm guessing the rear license plate LEDs would need to be error-free, right?

Thanks.
Anyone got the answer?

technically it wouldnt matter if error free or not...they still work with regular leds but you will end up seeing an error message pop up on ur display stating that a bulb is out. error free is simply error free so it wont irritate u...and error free leds cost a bit more but aznoptics.com sell them at a good price. or ebay... so ur choice of either dealing with an error message or payin a bit more for error free bulbs. i swapped out all my interior with error free leds and no problems whatsoever...5000k-6000k is tthe best color in my opinion. good luck and have fun.

not only error messages are eye sore and we wouldn't know exactly when is the "real" one . so based on your experience, there will be an error message if we use regular led, right? thx for sharing the info .

ive only used error free leds so ive had no problems...but wheb replacing my DRL in the headlights, the factory used cheap halogens with no resistors or such, so im guessing it wouldnt be a problem if u used regular leds...but then again leds and halogen bulbs are different so regular leds might set off an error...im not professional but thats just my insight...

if in doubt..just go error free..they have some good deals on ebay that sell 5 pairs for 50-60 dollars (which im using) and its really bright and no errors...

the reason I ask is because error free LEDs are more pricey than non-error free. If there are no sensors in the interior, then there's no need for error-free LEDs.
