This is cool! I had to walk outside to my car just to try it, and touching basically anywhere outside the handle works. No more trying to find the little square!

The window thing works, and it will also close the sunroof. The feature is useful for those times when I inadvertently open the door before the windows/sunroof are fully closed.

looks like it was improvement for 2011 model. 2010 model is so sensitive so light touch can lock car. I don't like that, so you are 2011 owners are lucky.

When cars have this feature you mentioned, it also usually has the opposite feature as well where if you keep depressing the unlock button on the fob it will roll down the windows as well as the moon or sunroof. It comes handy when you want to air your car out in those hot summer days. I haven't checked if this feature works for the W212 though.

Yes, my 2011 W212 has the feature where all windows and sunroof can be opened and closed holding the unlock or lock button of the remote. Remote must be aimed to driver's door handle as it has the infrared receiver for this function, i.e. it does not work by radio frequency limiting use of this feature from driver side of the car only.

You guys are aware that with Keyless Go cars all you have to do is hold your finger to the handle (in the locking form) to close everything right? I.e no key required.

I'm not sure if it does it (without the key) to open everything as well though....

The summer opening feature (opening using the key aimed at the infra-red sensor) also turns on the drivers' Comfort Ventilated Seat, if fitted.

You can also activate the summer opening feature by hitting the lock "square", and then immediately pulling the handle out about 1/4" and holding it out (not pulling the handle far enough to open the door). Takes a couple tries to get it, but it works.

As for the car wash, leave the key in the car when washing it. It won't lock the doors on you.

Noticed the washing problem too with my S. Just put the key on the drivers seat. No need to possibly loose it in the garage somewhere. No locking if the key is inside...

For real! I wouldn't be using a lot of cool things on this car if I didn't come here. I just learned about the awesome "Hold" feature like 2 days ago.

beater with a heater
had a car today not respond to the lock button on the handle (all 4) also the fob wouldn't lock the doors. I had to start the vehicle then turn it off to get it to respond.
