HID kit install
Hello I have recently purchased a 2011 E350 sedan with p1.
everything is great...
EXCEPT.
it does NOT come with HID
so.. I have ordered a kit and went about installing it until I found out that I can't even reach the driver's side light! (passanger side was easy) I did a search in this forum and it seems that some of you were able to get around all the mess.
How did you go about installing the driver's side? i see that there are 2 10mm /bracket that i can remove.. and thats about it because the other one near it is an A/C line.
thanks in advance....

i got it installed myself. whew... what a pain.
I got a relay that eliminates any error code.
the difference is night and day, I still can't believe HID is an option on this car.
I got my kit from Kensun for $93, shipping included.
next ==> LED parking lights.

but the error canceler for HID is to eliminate any error code send out by the computer in the car...
i think you misunderstand these two funtion...
for E350 2010, it is H7 HID kit 35w for both hi/low beam... i highly recommend to order from VVME.com HID kit,, i run vvme hid for more than 2 years, good light output and amazing hid color, 60$ shipping included . i like my 8k hid light...

Hey Boostaholic I was wondering if you got a separate bulb bracket for the new HID bulbs to fit in the OEM housings or if you were able to make them fit? I got some from ebay but haven't had a chance to try them out yet, the drivers side install really is a pain though

some HID bulbs are not easy to fit in OEM stock housings, you'd better use the mounting bracket seperately to fix them.....

Don't have MB install aftermarket HIDs. I don't even think they would touch them.
One retarded dealer in Los Angeles called DTLAMB even went as far as telling me to uninstall them from my W211 for warranty issues.
Have a local shop that specializes in mods do the work for you. My guy told me the way the W212s are built, there is very little room to do the install making it that much more difficult.
The shop should also guarantee their work/products for at least a year so if u have any problems, they can fix them for free. Think my guy guaranteed the hid lights themselves for as long as I own my car.

dude, the relay harness is to prevent ballast overload due to high temperature, power spike, and irregular voltage.

i would recommend HID H7 bulbs with metal base (rather than the commonly available plastic ones) which resembles the original halogen H7 bulbs. The HID bulbs with plastic base are too thick and make installation real PITA. These metal base bulbs are available on ebay. You should also consider the aftermarket metal brackets for holding the aftermarket HID bulbs too

How about an update on this? I'm a dealer for many companies that that offer hid kits, and I have a friend that needs one for a 2010 E class coupe. I want to be sure it works with no errors.
