Even if I did not get disctronic, do I still get pre brake?

Pretty sure the answer's no. You need the distronic radar tech in the car, I'd think.

It uses the same radar system that distronic uses. It is excellent and definitely not a gimmick....

I think this is a consequence of an unfortunate naming convention.

"Presafe" is the feature that will closer your windows / sunroof, pretension your seatbelts, etc., if it thinks you're about to wreck. As far as I know, this is standard -- perhaps even on all MB's.

"Presafe Brake" is the auto-stop feature that you're referring to, and I believe it only comes with the distronic package (adaptive cruise).
