No Pen
#another feature:
In the centre armrest storage compartment, one of the flaps has a "PEN HOLDER".
Now I'm just wondering if any of your cars came with a Mercedes pen or do we supply our own little Bic pencils... LOL
Come on... I can't be the only one that has been finding neat little features!!! Chime in!!

No prob bud! I remember you saying that you use the paddles a lot, so I was actually hoping that would be of use to you or anyone.
Agreed! I hate using blinkers (bad habit), and this is fit for me perfectly.
Yeah that's part of the P2 Package, and I too learned that no more than a couple months or so ago. And I do the same thing! Lol. I don't know how else the thing could be useful (unless you forget to activate the motor to close it when you're actually standing back there)?
Ah, so that's why the Leather cars come with headrests with a "bar" thing in the middle. I take it this is in fact only a feature with Leather equipped cars?

In general here in U.S. it might seem unnecessary function to be able to close trunc from the button on the driver's door but it has it's purpose when crossing borders between countries. In Europe this happens between EU countries and others, here between U.S. and Canada or Mexico.
At border crossing, if you are not required to step out of the car, they still often ask you to open the trunk for inspection. You can tell them not to slam it shut as you don't want them to scratch painting and to it from the button on the door inside. Telling them to use the button on the trunk lid may be too complicated.

Automatic NAVI instruction reversal?
On my way to a bank I came to a roadblock after a drive about 1 1/2 miles from the street to the subdivision I live at. Turned around and started heading back as the other longer way for me to get to the same bank is to drive back past the street to my subdivision to opposite direction about 3 miles. Interestingly after the U-turn the NAVI changed guidance information back to my home where I started the trip. After passing the street to my subdivision NAVI changed back to my original destination, i.e. the bank, and started guiding me there thru the new longer route.
Seems like it is programmed to reverse the trip if you make a U-turn and start heading back to where you started the trip, like if you forgot something and have to go back to get it...? Not sure if this is practical but this is what it did.

That's weird, I didn't know if mine did that.
Usually, with M-B Navs, I've found that if there's a detour, they are TERRIBLE at figuring that out, as they constantly try and take you back toward the original route, until you get so far off the original path, that it has no choice but to recalculate.
They're really not the same thing. First off, slamming the gas is a bit more erratic, as it takes a second to downshift, then accelerates at full speed, when you let off the gas, it upshifts, so if you need to go again, then you have to do the whole process over. It's "messier", and wastes more gas I'm sure as well. If you need to "prepare" for a speed burst, you can downshift in the optimal gear by holding the paddle, and then accelerate as you choose (maybe you don't want to go WOT, but you want the optimal power at your fingertips, in case you want to do so), also, you don't have to deal with it shifting up, if you need to let off, and then hit it again.

I noticed today, fortunately, that my remote locked the car door at about a 100 ft away. Not sure how far it would work but it's much further than my other cars. Nice plus when it's really cold outside and you don't want to go outside to lock your car.

I do like the grouping of sirrus stations......by genre I guess.....
ex: all the comedy on one dial......even though there are only a few
it's still cool to be able to cycle through them without having to go through
them all......

Closing trunk
You will not get someone's handprints on your trunk this way. People do not always use the grips under the trunk to close the trunk without putting their paws all over my wax job. Thank you for this information.

Thanks for pointing that feature out, it works very well. It's instant and the power is spot on. I turned the traction control off and played with it on my way home from work. Car got sideways every time either when it would shift down to 1st or even second, hammer it then sideways I go. How in the world people with AMG's keep the rear planted? I even have wider tires and can't get them to grip hammering it below 30mph. Cars flippin nuts, specially with this feature. It launches the car and holds at a higher rpm before shifting than if you weren't using it otherwise.

If you really wanna freak someone out, keep popping your trunk and then closing it from inside. Someone behind you will think you're car is trying to swallow them.... Or there's a ghost back there. Good way to scare little children!!!!

Gift Card
Found the pen holder and I placed the free pen that came with my Hyundai in it. Hyundai also supplied a separate vinyl folder/case just for maintenance, registration, insurance, etc. with a note pad in it. MB doesn't give you anything. Guess that's so they can sell you more.

40s 4 translates Christmas music now. It was surprise, since Serious had a dedicated Christmas channel in previous years. Classical Pop has also Christmas music.

Just so you know, every recent car with a trunk must have such a release (don't want you to think you can kidnap somebody with a Ford or something).

I'm not sure what prompted the rule.
