It varies by dealer unless you purchased a pre-paid service plan.

B

Just had service 'B'. Just over 400 bones.

It was interesting that the C loaner I got had more comfortable seats and a lot more audio bass. I also found the the C's sport mode was more aggressive, in terms of keeping the revs up, than the E550's.

The 10" JL Audio sub I putting in the trunk today should round out the Harmon/Kardon system in the E.

Let me know how that goes or at least post some pics with a small tutorial. I've been thinking of doing the same thing. The car has great midbass but not much for low end.

You can get the pre-paid maintenance for about $769 IF you purchase it before the "A" service is due. Covers A, B and C services. Contact your dealer. You can contact MBUSA, but you purchase from dealer, usually finance person.

We have the A service for $220. B service starts at $300 but then at 2 yr/20k miles you also need the brake fluid to be flushed and dust filter replaced. So 2 years service generally about $520. What is done specifically is listed in your service booklet that came with the manual. I usually print out a service sheet for my clients to show what we do also.

Need to be careful of what dealer wants to do at X service. I have two other makes of vehicles and for X service, the dealer always wants to tack on about $100-200 more that he recommends at that level. Example: Fuel injection service every 15,000 miles.
On those vehicles, I tell them to do what the owners manual (manufacturer) says and no more. Never had problems with going over 100,000 with cars in the past.
Once got a $29 oil and filter change as that was all that was required, but watched a woman purchase $200 worth of service on same make and model car with same mileage because service advisor said they recommended it.

Sorry for confusion, but I had stated I have two other makes of vehicles and was referring to them. Ford and Toyota routine 5,000 mile services. Actually prices are now about $39 for O&F change and inspections.

Wow. It is really interesting, I was participating in C class launch event and didn't found the car comfortable or high performer. It seems I should revisit a dealer and test it again. Hard to believe it overperforms E550. I can assume that my 135 can do that easily, however C350... perhaps it is just fake feel.

Regarding service price, it is $205 in my area SFBA. I guess standard price is $250, but dealers are willing giving discount. I do always service A since car is leased.

Required vs. Recommended

I believe M-B changed its service procedures this past year and divided each regular service into Required and Recommended. It could be some dealer's are now only performing the Required whereas others may also be performing both the required and recommended.
I noticed my dealer charged less for the "A" service than what I was told it would cost when I purchased the car. Didn't ask why though.

So... my A service was completed yesterday. 350 Canadian dollars.

They found a leaky transfer case during the service.

I also learnt that there is no available PREPAID maintenance packages in Canada. I asked before the service in question.

This is good information. I was curious about the prepaid service package but couldn't get my dealer to give me the costs for each service. Seemed really stupid as they were trying to sell me the package but couldn't (wouldn't) tell me what I was saving by paying in advance.

Where can I find the costs to compare the prepaid numbs they gave me?

BTW - have the 2011 Bluetec so runs a little higher that the gas version.

Only your dealer knows

The only one who knows what it costs is the dealership. Try asking the service manager directly. One consideration though is what is included? Some may do both recommended and required, others may do other services as well. Also, some may give discount to customers who purchased car from them.
Other factor is will charges go up in future. I'm betting they will.

"A" service at my dealer was $357.99 plus tax $46.54 for a total of $404..53. It's a total ripoff for a simple oil change.

There are two Mercedes dealers in the part of the state where I live. Since I own homes in both cities, it is relatively convenient to go to either one. For the 20,000 mile service on my 2008 S550 one dealer wanted $900; the other did it for $400 (same service in both cases). I have been very pleased with the service at the dealer with the lower price. Each time the actual cost has been less than the quoted price. They are very thorough. On the 20,000 mile service for my 2005 CLK500 they found and repaired a leaking cylinder head gasket during the routine service.

I called several local MB dealers to confirm estimated cost for A service and all of them said it's between 150 to 199. If it's more than that, you pay way more. Also my dealer provides FREE service A since I purchased this vehicle there. Yah, it's FREE.

Sorry but there is no way a c300 (loaner cars are c300s), can be comparable to an E550 in any way, particularly acceleration or rev holding. I had a C300 for 2 years and it is louder, and a bit rougher so it does seem like it's fast and quick but with the E550, I can't believe how much ground I can cover so quickly, power and ride is smooth and quick

Last a service cost 139, can have dealer match price of a local competitor's price from online special. Usual price in greater los Angeles Orange county area is btn 150-200, lowest I've seen is 129, but during slow summer months
