Those w/ Adaptive High Beams. Do you leave the highs on "Auto" at all times?

haven't finished reading owner's manual since I bought new E350 11/21/10. I drove 200 miles so far cuz I have 2 other cars. Basically it's sitting in my garage. Thanks for the tips!! I learn a lot here.

I leave them in auto all the time. Only time I've ever had an issue with them beaming someone was early in the morning when there was too much frost on the window. Fortunately the area where the cameras for auto beams/lane departure/night vision sit is heated so it cleared up really quick.

I am still learning to work mine.

I drive through dark forest at slowish speeds ( to dodge Kangaroos of all things) and I am still trying to work out what is happening.

I think the reflections from the roadside markers are sometimes forcing the lights to dip and as well Others have mentioned that slower speeds do the same thing.

The manual is not too clear on this but I will try locking the main beam on as suggested earlier as the constant up and down when not expected or required is distracting and unwelcome at a time when high beam is definitely required.

Turning the ligths to ON instead of A (or AUTO) will allow you manual control. Agree it reacts to big reflective road signs. Other issue is it puts them in low beam regardless below a certain speed (I think 30 or so) which is inconvenient at times.

Still advantages outweigh disadvantages.
