Per the attached article, if true, Mercedes will make conversion kits available through the dealer. Will you go "straight?"

Wow, way too expensive.
Plus, I like the hockey-sticks, and they're unique to the W212's, while the straight-across are ubiquitous to the entire lineup almost, not to mention other cars. Both look good in their own right though, comes down to preference.
I still have yet to see an AMG bumper with the straight-acrosses, so I wonder if this article is failing to mention that this conversion may only be available to "LUXURY" models, with the hockey-stick style.
Either way, I hope they make the straight-across standard on the Sport W212's asap, because I'd be more than happy to have a more "rare" hockey-stick type of LED's. I wouldn't mind the visual diversity at all in this case.

I picked up my sport with the hockey sticks yesterday and while waiting saw another customer looking at a lux that had the staights. From looking at both in person I'm liking my hockies.

And who in the with right mind would change the sticks straight. The sticks make this car separate from the others. If you don't like the sticks either use black duct tape or black spray paint to cover the bent part of the light to see if you like the straight model. I would never want to go with straights to replace the hockey sticks.
I hope MB is not planning to start making normal E-Sports with straight LEDs and AMGs with the sticks?
If there was a retrofit for the lights that I would go for is to add a round fog light that would be perfect at the inside of the hockey stick bend and make it work from a separate button. This button would not activate rear fog light, just front. It would also turn LEDs off when the round ones come ON.

I still have a hunch that they're referring to "Luxury" designations.
I have yet to see a picture anywhere of a W212 with AMG Package, with straight LED's (actual AMG model aside). Unless they haven't revealed pictures of the changed LED's for the Sport, yet.
Anyone have a Link to build an M-B on the German Website? If it's available soon in the U.S, I'm sure it would already be available in Germany/Europe.

My opinion, lux 4 round lights are better than awkward hokey sticks. if have a choice, I will choose 4 round lux light and straight LED then hockey stick. I believe MB tried to copy Audi's curved LED but didnt want to put same pattern so they made hockey stick shape.

Well, I hope that the new straight LED's come on the Sport 212's soon, because I've been trying to figure out SOMETHING I can do to my cars front, that will differentiate it from the packs (so far, P2 lights, and black side markers are the best I can come up with), and the front is so perfect, there's just nothing that won't downgrade the look IMO.
Changing to straight LED's across the board, will really help my contention.

Not bad, it looks better that the hockey stick in my view. I hope my yet to be built E will have this. Does anyone know for production in February and imported to Canada how the lights will look like?

That still shows an Avantgarde model.
Still thinking that Article didn't do their research, and is misleading, in alluding to the AMG Packages getting the straight-across look.
Think about it this way, the E63 has a straight across LED's, and a very similar bumper to the AMG Pack Sport E-Classes already, so I think they'd want to keep the differentiation intact.

2011 E350W Luxury...I found this pic. not my pic but same color, spec except mine has 4 grill lines instead of 3 on this pic.
Also I added wood-leather wrapped steering wheel and it really makes my car 'luxury'.

am sure now that MB will put the straight led on all types of E class 2011 BUT not on the one with AMG package...thats from the dealer and they start doing it from 2010 but 4 the E class which been export from germany to middle east only... now they open a line to EU and US...for me i love the straight led and i hope when i get my car(with AMG) it will be straight led so i dont want 2 spend another 500$ to change it ...lol

I drive a 2013 ML350
So I guess I will accept offers for my hockey sticks as soon as I decide to make the change, but I have to say, the hockies are pretty unique.

Again, I think any of you guys with Sport Packages, who like the straights, are gonna be unhappy to find out that they're only replacing them for the Luxury models, as the straights haven't been designed for the W212 AMG Sport bumper.
Maybe I'll be proven wrong, but I don't think so.
