LED Foglamps
Anyone have any idea as to whether or not there is a product out there which allows our LEDs to be on at full-brightness at all times?
Hate that they dim

Following goes with my car with Bi-xenon lighting option.
I think they dim and especially turn off for a purpose. Dimming when driving lights come ON probably is just a practical reason, i.e. why have them ON full power (or at all) when driving lights are ON. The LEDs are Daytime Running Lights and not needed together with driving lights.
The LEDs turn completely OFF when I press that fog light button. Reason for this is that the LEDs are NOT fog lights. Their light beam is not directional as fog light is. If they stay ON they produce light beam coming from bottom up in front of you, which probably is the worst thing to have happen with car lights when driving in dense fog. It can completely take your ability to see the road away.

2011 E550W - White/Almond, P2 Pkg, Pano Roof, Driver Dynamic Seat, Sport Pkg, Rear Spoiler
Hello! I am brnad new to this forum. I bought my wife a 2011 E550 for which she says is her best Benz ever. It's number 7 for her with a range from her first C230 to her last one before this, the CLS550. Anyway, when I depress the foglight button, the LED runers turn off, but no other lighting appears. I see no additional light as I have in other cars. Is this how they are suppose to work? Thanks. Ian

So there are no dedicated front fog lights then? Which means that cars with P1 have front fog lights (one of two lower "fog" lights is DRL only, the other one is true fog light) and cars with P2 do not? If so, any ideas why MB chose to do this?

I just want them on full blast at all times...has to be some sort of a capacitor that we can throw in there to get them to work as desired...
BTW - with P2, pushing the fog lamp button does disable to front DRL's but it also readjusts the front two headlamps to redirect the low beam to be lower and spread to the sides of the road...

I drove though INSANE fog the other week, like as foggy as anything I can ever imagine, with my P2 car. Let me say, although the HID's did a great job, and the rear fog lights (and Emergency Lights) kept me feeling safer, I could have used some fog lights.

You are talking (correctly so) about '11 MY cars - I know about this.
In my question I meant (without specifically saying so) for '10 MY - I have '10 P1 coupe. As you probably know P1 equipped '10 coupes and sedans do not have LED and I did describe this: "one of two lower "fog" lights is DRL only, the other one is true fog light". I wanted HID lights, but did not like design of HID's DRL LEDs, while liking a lot double "fog" light design a la BRABUS. Hence I chose P1 - do not drive car much at night anyway.

I know that MY 10 vehicles have those round fog lamps...

Thanks for the replies folks. I suppose MB fiqured the HID on low would be sufficient enough in fog and truly did not add front fog lamps on P2 cars. That stinks as I like the added light when you activate fog lamps. I know the rear fog lamp is beneficial as well. Oh well, it is what it is and its a darn nice car. Thanks.

mine is not LED cuz I chose luxury instead of sports. I am sure 1 set of fog lamps I can control but don't know another set of lamps. salesperson said it's designed for adaptive cornering lamp which comes with P02 option. not sure.

Lol. I don't know how an owner, or salesperson could miss this, but one set (I think the inner lights) are the daytime running lights, the other set, is used as the foglights.

Fog lights
I haven't had the opportunity yet to deal with really nasty fog, but in the event it does happen I would certianly have liked the option for foglights in the lower corners of the front valance...I wouldn't be oppose to custom mounting a nice set of very low profile PIAA lights in there if I could make it work with the location and somewhat follow the edge of the hockeystick DRL's without compromising the look too much.

Went to my mechanic and installed HID's since I got the P1 package but was told that the outer oval light from the fog/drd lights can not be changed. So I just have the inner lights adjusted, does anyone know if the outer fog light even works?
the mechanic also can not adjust the (HI BEAM headlamp/daytime running lamps) to HID's either. So now I have to get very bright bulbs just to match my HID headlights, does anyone know where I can find the brightest bulbs that is not HID.

did you figure out if you can turn all 4 fog lights on at the same time? I have never seen all 4 on at the same time either?
