Just Ordered My Car: 2011 E550
Well for me it's the second time around. The first time it was an E350 that I could not get because my current lease could not be terminated. I guess that was an omen for me as I was never comfortable with the V6.
Anyway the new order is as follows:
E550 4Matic Sport
Arctic White / Black Leather / Burl Walnut Trim
P2 Package
Panorama Roof
Parktronic
Split Seats
It should arrive in late March. Did not opt for the rear spoiler as I did on the E350 and I am not going to hold out for the possibility of a 2012 TT by extending my current lease. I have the option to do so on a month by month basis for 6 months which would extend it until October. I have 50K miles now and will be out of warranty. By that time I would look at a $2700 rotor job plus 4 new tires and who knows what else on an AMG car. Best to move on NOW.

Congrats! I purchased an e350 4matic luxury on November 30,2010 and thought it was great. I was actually very impressed by the engine and tranny, worked great together, although the ride was just a little less sporty than I would have liked. It almost seemed to be more like a scaled down s class. I had some buyers remorse 3 weeks later thinking that the added stuff that you got with the e550 was well worth the price, v8, airmatic suspension, leather seats. So I called back my dealer and begged for a reasonable offer to do the up trade and we negotiated an acceptable price. Got an indium grey, e550 4matic with p2, distronic and the drive dynamic seat. Love the car, but not to diss the e350, because I thought that was a great ride. The drive dynamic seat is a relatively cheap up grade. It gives you the massage function which is cool(rollers up the back) but more importantly, the inflating side bolsters that inflate to give you support as you corner. It works amazingly well, inflating and deflating left to right as you go around hard corners. Worth the small pay up, IMO. Thanks. Ned.
