2011 E5504, 2008 MB S5504 (gone), 2010 BMW x6 50i, 2011 ML350 (wife) 2008 BMW 535xi (gone);
Which E5504 should i choose?

Scheduled to pick up blue on Tuesday but now have 2 choices:

1. Capri (dark) blue metallic
Natural Beige (two tone) interior, amg sport, burl walnut
p2, sport, drive dynamic seat, pano, rear spoiler, driver assist.

OR

2. Black on black, burl walnut, amg sport, appearance pkg (roof and rear spoiler), chrome door inserts, p2, pano roof. (NO DRIVER ASST PACKAGE AND NO DRIVE DYNAMIC MULTI-CONTOUR SEAT)

Would appreciate thoughts, I have the drive dynamic seats in my current car so I know what I would be missing and can live without them - I think my wife enjoys them more than me. Is the Driver Assist package worth it? I don't have distronic in my current car, so don't know how effective it is...etc..

Thanks

I have an e550 in indium grey equipped with the same options as the capri blue offering. I personally love the drive dynamic seat. The active side bolsters work great as does the massage. Not sure if it is better now than on your 2008. The driver assist with distronic and the other safety features is a worthy option package as well, IMO, but certainly not essential. I'm not sure how you put a value on blind side detection and lane wandering feature. If it works once, ever, worth the price and then some. The distronic cruise control works great, amazing feature if you use it of course. I know that this was a significant purchase for me. I would recommend waiting to get pretty close to the package of options and color you want before buying. There are enough of these cars around that your dealer should be able to find you what you want, even if it means paying a little more. Regards. Ned.

Sorry. Didn't realize it was you. I know that you've been through a lot of thought on this purchase already. I guess if it was me and I had to make the decision next week between the two cars, I would take the more loaded capri blue. Best of luck. You can't lose. Ned.

#1 I'm not a big fan of the natural Beige interior.
#2 Pano roof isn't a plus since the car is black and you won't have an exterior difference so you won't gain anything but loose the options you mentioned. Goodluck!

I would definitely take the one with driver assist package. It is very good if you use the distronic.

1) Ask the dealer to have them both waiting for you side by side.
2) Look at them both and decide which one looks better (color, exterior/interior options, etc.)
3) Take them both for a spin, come back and sign the papers for the one that stole your heart.
4) Take tons of pictures.
5) log on to MBworld.com and show us which sexy beast you chose.

I dont have distronic but I test drove one with it and its awesome. My next car will have it for sure.

Blue one for sure.

Do you mean Almond interior btw? (2-tone)

A disclaimer: I'd never own a black car as my primary, and I much prefer the contrast of the Almond/Black with Burl.

Not the almond two tone, the Natural Beige two tone interior...darker than almond -- more of a saddle or the color of the Savanah Cashmere seats of S Class.
