If I had an E63 I would not put this type of wheel on it. Definitely would get a much lighter forged monoblock or something of that sort. I noticed almost immediately the extra weight. I previously owned an M5 and have a very short commute to work and just couldn't justify the cost/HP for such minimal miles per year. I chose this car as just an economical cruiser and was not real concerned with power. So to answer your question, yes the extra weight zapped some of the power/torque, but I think most with a 350 or even a 550 wouldn't have a huge issue with it.

I was partially talked into the 275/30 vs. the 285/25 for lack of side wall and to help fill the rear fenderwell a little more. My distance from top of wheel to fender is exactly the same all the way around so the 30 front & rear worked out well for me with the H&R springs. Had I gone with the 285/25, I think I would have had a noticeable difference in fenderwell gap from front to back.

245/30/20 front & 275/30/20 rear. I was considering ML63 wheels myself because of the need for a higher offset, but really wanted a staggered set up. I was lucky to find these and glad I decided to go with it. It was a straight bolt up with a really nice fit and no need for spacers.

Only MBs - the best or nothing
In the above side veiw picture, the sidewall differences of front and rear tires are quit clear. Wonder what handling effect you feel (there have to be some, as car was not designed to run different sidewall hights for same diameter wheels - like, front and rear not in sync?). Thanks.

I agree that picture makes it look like a big difference in side wall between front & rear, but I think it is more shadowing on the rear because you really don't notice it much at all in person. As for handling, I'm really not sure. Seems fine to me, but then again I don't push the car all that hard.

I guess your car is non-4matic and you didnt have to worry about matching front/rear overall diameter

Thank you! Your car is super sick by the way. I was on the fence about going aftermarket look like yours or a little more OEM like what I ended up with. I think my wheels are a good clean look for the white. However, your wheels on the black is just super mean.

Thanks again to everyone for the great compliments! After a week of driving the car with spring & 20" combo, I am very happy. Not harsh or jarring, lower profile tires have greatly improved the handling and I'm loving the look. Having alignment done as I type.

I will have to feel out the market in 2 years, but I can't see myself parting with this one at lease end. More than likely I will purchase it. And for whats it's worth, I think I will probably go ahead and add Sprint Booster soon as well. Happy Thursday to all!

Where did you buy the replicas and how much?
