Ha haaa.... Welcome back to the stock world....
I see you changed the Avatar and some pictures too. Very good.![thumbs](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/thumbsup.gif)
I am guessing that you took the pictures with your Iphone and edited in Camera+ app..... If I am right... yes I really love this app. It makes my amateur pictures look much much better.

Yep...I am happy with it. Keeping it classy is good...
I test drove a new vette convertable and camero 2ss convertable today...that can keep me "sporty" enough. Thank god for three car garages.

That's my plan as well sometime Philly. One bonafide Luxury car (got that down), and a Sports car as well. Just need the room. No wannabee's for me.

I very much prefer stock grill-never even thought about changing it. Has that classic M-B look. Like the star ornament on hood so I can see the sunlight glinting off it as I drive. Also it impresses people.
BTW, doesn't the new "C" class have the star grill? If so, stock grill and hood ornament further define the "E" and "S" classes.
BTW, I imagnine the designers spent a lot of time analyzing what type grill and hood ornament to use on the "E" class.

I have no problems with a Star grill, but it's obviously a HUGE pet peeve of mine when people put awkwardly proportioned ill-fit aftermarket Star grills on cars that M-B Designers carefully designed to to look right with only a Luxury grill.

Bingo. The Luxo grill is M-B's most exclusive grill now, as the Star grill is on the vast array of C-Class, M-B's SUV's/Minivan (R-Class), etc. etc. The entry level A-Class is about to come to the States, with a Star grill as well.

Sorry but I just have to disagree with your opinion here. The after market star grille from 55tech looks very ggod on W212. It has the original MB star from MB and the star actually looks better than on MB E350 Coupe. Reason is that the grille is bigger and the star does not look too big as on some MB made cars they do.
This is just my opinion.

We surely disagree there. ![Smilie](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
I guarantee, if M-B were to make the Star grill look good on the W212, in a non aftermarket/ill-fit way, the grill opening on the W212 would be narrower, and maybe wider (although it's already very wide). Also, it would be shaped a little differently.
If you notice, on the W212 aftermarket Star grills, there is a HUGE chrome border around it, which is taken from the Luxury grill (where it looks appropriate), for one, M-B would never border their OEM Star grill cars with such massive chrome. Aside from the fit and proportion, that's one of the main things that gives it a ("Hey, let me distract the rest of the car from you!") big cheese-ball smile look. The OEM M-B Star grill cars are much more elegant and harmonized up there.... I.e, they are designed to not let the Star grill really overtake your eye.

On the flip-side, I think if you put a Luxury grill and hood Star on a CLS, or SUV, or SL, etc. it would look equally as hideous.

Two grilles on "E" Class. The Luxury grill has four horizontal bars and the Sports grill has three. Not that noticiable, but one of the things M-B did to differentiate the Luxury andd Sports versions. Sorry, can't do pictures so can't show you.

I had a 55 tech star grill, but I am changing back to stock. It looks good, but it looks to much like a c-class impo. I am having the stock grill painted black right now, my car is black. Question for everyone, do you think it will look ok if I leave the hood star chrome? Any suggestions, keep hood star off or on with stock black grill?

I laughed my a$$ off at the comment about the 16 year old Russian mafia kid living on the cheap side of BH. I gotta remember that line.
