E550 air suspension pump noise
Does anyone notice that the air suspension pump is often running when driving around town or stopped at lights? It seems very annoying. I had the dealer check it out and it found no problems or codes. They say it is just the way it is. My SL's had air suspension and it wasn't this noisy and often running.

I usually do not hear mine, I only hear the pshhhh sound when parked or getting into the car.
I also usually have the radio on, but I will turn off today to see o hear rather.

Never noticed while driving but windows are always up and radio on. Definitely a lot of air release/adjustment when parked.
Is it a problem if you hear air adjustment noise while driving?

However, I don't think that I have a leak. My car will sit for a week with no indication of "falling" or air leaks.
So I guess it is the nature of the beast.

I can often hear the air compressor when driving slowly or stopped. It doesn't bother me though. Keep in mind the SL uses a different suspension system, the Active Body Control.

Thanks for all the input. I guess I will just deal with it. So much better car than our 2008 E350 4matic which was so slow but a nice looking car. I love that I can raise it up in snow and when near rough roads. I just wish that it could also be lowered from standard height as my old 2004 Cayenne S had a feature that would start in standard and allow you to lower 1 or raise 1 during normal driving. That thing loved to make noises when parked especially if the ground was not 100% perfect.
