It is not so much staggered wheels but different profile heights. I just had my E350 Bluetec in for service and received a C300 4Matic as a loaner for the day. It had 225/45R 17's on the front and 245/40R 17's on the back. The diameter of this staggered arrangement is the same front and rear.

False - see attached image...references above tire sizes

As I said, this whole notion of the rolling diameter needing to be the same is a complete bunch of nonsense (as long as the difference is somewhat nominal).

Stagger tire sizes on a 4Matic...you'll be fine
