Having trouble getting a comfortable driving position with regards to my left arm

I am having trouble getting comfortable as far as where to rest my left arm, in all my cars I always rest my left elbow on the window sill and my left hand on the steering wheel.

The E is too wide to do this and it is not like I am a small guy at 5'10".
Except for my sports car, my other 2 cars are mid to large size as well yet they are not as wide I guess ...

I tried to lower the seat and use the left door armrest but I feel like I am sitting way too low and at normal seat height the door armrest is too low.

Any suggestions ?

thank you,

Try the Gangsta Lean. It works for me sometimes.

LOL.

To O/P, you can also try driving with your left hand, and using the center console as an armrest.

Hopefully none of use have to ever personally realize this, but in the event of a side collision, you would hopefully thank that width, and space between you and the door. I heard from some M-B Insiders that M-B has JUST patented a center-driving position for a car. For those of us who ride solo most of the time, it would be a significant added source of protection in the possible event of getting hit from the side. Those guys are always coming up with crazy Safety stuff.

The problem the OP has with the E is not purely because the E is wider.
I don’t know if you have noticed this but the steering wheel is off center to the right. So the wider body coupled with the off center wheel is why it may feel so Alien driving this car with your normal driving position.

I would recoommend moving to a country with right-hand-drive vehicles. Problem solved.
