Moving in up.......
hi guys:
I have decided to move up to the E63.......
thought it would be fun to have MORE power, hehe......
planning on trading in after it arrives....after I order that bad boy....
the e550 has been a sweet ride......but I'm moving on....
any comments welcome.......

What did you order, are you getting the TT, let us know all the features and share your impressions I can only imagine the fun you'll be having.
PS when do you expect to take delivery?

Yeah, the E63 is pretty awesome, got drive it around a mini-track and a couple of MB AMG events and thought it was the perfect mix of power, handling, luxury, technology, design and seats, congrats.

thanx, and yeah......waiting seems prudent.........thinking of trying to order in August or Septemebr again...........with a much longer wait this time, LOL.......
the waiting drove me nutty last year......but at least I'd still have my car until trading it....probably take a mean hit on the trade in huh? the amg wheels only have a few hundred miles on them.....and it's a nice sweet black car.....should be easy to resell?

Last summer MB had a hush-hush AMG sale. The E and C AMGs were going for significantly less than usual and they were flying out of dealerships. Search around on the forums and you will get an idea what I'm talking about. I spoke to my sales guy and he said it is more than likely happening again this summer for the C-Class AMG for sure before the 2012 models come out with the new interiors and the C-Class Black Series AMG Coupe. They want to clean out the inventories for the current styles. Go talk to your dealer sooner than later to find out the details.
Some guys were getting E63's last year for less than what some here payed for E550's, I'm sure.
This year, with TT's coming out, the E63 gas chuggers (N/A) might go for VERY good deals. Unless M-B got a hold of their supply finally.
Laiceps: Remember, if you hear of anything crazy going on, and in case I miss out on it, pass it on to a Brotha! Lol.
I'm not gaga about going to an E63 right now just for the sake of it or anything, BUT, if the price is right, and it isn't too much higher than what I'm paying now (I was surprised when I read about some deals people got last year, how close they were to my E350!), then why the hell not!

The last I heard it was supposed to happen from the middle of July until August 1. My sales guy told me to ask him again in the beginning of June for the exact date and I'm planning on doing that.

Yup, you never know when these guys get desperate, some crazy deals can be had.
I figure, if they do that crazy "Trunk Money" thing, with the Gas Prices through the roof, and the N/A 6.3 getting phased out, new more powerful & efficient TT's coming out, etc., there's a possibility one can come away with an outgoing MY E63 for not much more than what they're paying now (if they didn't get end-of-year type deals themselves). I got nothing to lose, either an E63 for a great deal, or the sweet E350 that I'm already in a serious relationship with!
One thing to remind people of, regarding the E63 though, is there is a lot more to go wrong, and upkeep is a lot more expensive. Just browsing the AMG W212 Forums from time to time, there seems to be lots of problems and little issues reported that we don't see here.

If you are really considering a non Turbo why not buy a used one E63, the AMG forums have numerous discussions about the depreciation hit AMG's take and why some of the guys like to wait a year or two and buy used. PS, if you believe MB will push the non-TT's there will definitely be some deals in the used market.

I think I'm going to wait a year or so and trade mine in for a CLS63

I bought my E63 last June, MSRP $102,425, got it for $89,000. Also got $33,000 for my Jeep SRT8 (2008, 26,000 mi, bought it new for $38,000) in trade in. The dealer also brought the car in from a few states away.

I would wait till you get a definite answer on the 2012's getting the TT motor, if they are getting that motor you should be able to get a killer deal on the 2011's left over.
I think I'm going to wait a year or so and trade mine in for a CLS63

I know what the extra $ gets you when buying a E63.
But the extra $20k for buying a CLS doesnt really get you much.
I will take a look at the CLS anyway but I am starting to think that I might follow your lead Hyperion.
