In bel air, ca, I see probably anywhere 8-10 E classes on mulholland on my morning commute, 5-7 new s classes, 7-8 ml suv's, and on my way home, I see 5-6 gl's. These cars are commonplace in my neighborhood

I was in a line of 3 E's the other day, twas pretty funny. It takes a damn good design to keep its presence whilst being extremely populated. Benz Sedans have always been good at this.

Nice. I got some cool pics recently, including some of a new Audi A7 I Test Drove, and some side-by-side pics next to my E. I think W212 owners will be happy to see HOW good the E looks next to Audi's new (and very nice as well, save for the hideous rear) "4-Door Coupe".

Interesting tidbit regarding the E's Sales in March. Copy & Pasted from my post on another Message Board:
In March the E-Class sold 6,107 VS the 5-Series 4,491. Up until last month, the two were very close, usually within 1,000 sales of each other, I think with the E leading.
2 things to this: 1- It's impressive for the E, as it's a year older body style, and usually cars sell their best in their first year, so it's holding the 5'er off so far. 2- The E Coupe, Convertible, and Wagon factor into its total Sales, as does the 5GT's, although, the Sedan versions of both are by far the biggest sellers.

Very true, but aesthetically the 550 is identical to the 350, so the only visually "rare" aspect of an E550 is the emblem in the back, lol.

Seriously...ML350 v ML550, GL450 v GL550, C300 v C350 all have visual differences, although 2010 E sedans had wheel differences, for 2011, same wheels available for both so now virtually no diff between the E's, wonder why...

To be honest, it seems MBUSA is VERY lazy with the W212 in terms of visual differentiation. With the W211, there were SO many different aesthetic Packages, and the V8's had certain visual differences that the V6's needed to option out to get, etc.
With the 212, they make the AMG Sport Package free, so we can't even enjoy a somewhat exclusive look with that, and they don't provide many visual differentiations between models. It seems like they just want to maximize Sales to the nth degree with this car, and don't care about catering to the enthusiast base much.

I feel that could sell more 550's if there was a some distinction btw the models, anyway still a great car... There does seem to be same thing with BMW to, can't tell the diff btw 528, 535, or 550

We see a fair amount of the 350's here in Myrtle Beach, relatively speaking. Mostly the last body style. Very few 550s and very few 4-M's. So my 5504M stands out a little. But to be honest I didn't buy it to stand out. I got it because I liked it, not so someone else can like it for me.

no doubt RichardB, but I have to admit, other people enjoying my car helps me to enjoy it that much more LOL......
I got the 550 because I wanted a V8, and the 4M is for weather related driving you know?

I gotta say, I find that it would kind of such to have a car that NO ONE else has. Reason being, that I love seeing my car on the road, in different elements, because it makes me appreciate its beauty, and thus, I'll fall in love with "my" car more-so, because I just saw another one on the road. I don't get my car to impress others, so if I was never able to see my car in all these great elements, it might negatively affect my ownership experience.
That said, I try not to care about how many people drive what I drive, etc. A nice car is a nice car, and a GREAT design is one that will always look great and distinctive, regardless of how many others there are on the road. If a car is popular, that's usually a good thing!

Agreed! I have the 550 for the same reason, power good! The 4-matic is for all that snow we get here at Myrtle Beach (LOL). Really, the 4-matic is for handling and those times we get mongo down pours. Where in NC are you?
