Resonator delete

Resonator delete
Have any of you guys taken the resonator off your E's to get a louder sound? If you do remove it is an xpipe necessary? Also what about removing the 2nd cats...which would give a louder more powerful sound?

Really depends on if you have a 6 or an 8. The 3.5L is a great sounding 6, but IMO it doesn't sound right at all on a car of this stature (read: Ricey), an 8 on the other hand will sound much better.... Although just don't do the resonator delete for reasons posted above.

My muffler shop, said no diff with x-pipe or not at resonator level, so I straight piped it. He told me that some people think that it makes the car perform better, but he said it was all in the head, no real numbers until header replacement.
Not much difference in sound either, only loader at Full Throttle.

Watch your MPG's and pay attention to your low end torque. Eliminating backpressure by welding in straight pipes where a muffler sort of piece used to be can hurt both. I had straight pipes welded where the MUFFLERS (totally different ballpark, of course) were on my old Mustang GT, and it sounded absolutely LOUD and incredible, however there was a major loss of low end torque, and a major MPG decrease to go along with it. F/I cars won't suffer from that so much when doing that same mod.

The one in the video, that a v8 5.5L, the 3.5L, I am thinking about doing it also for a lil more exhaust note, but dont want it to sound like a can (Ricey)
