A Mod That You Haven't Seen Before...
Well, here it is...just when I thought I couldn't do anything more to this car, MB released new tail lamps for the 212 yesterday...
Naturally, I ordered them and installed them today.
Really pleased with the results - especially since these are MB approved/manufactured and are DOT approved...was always squeemish about third party tail lamps.
Night shots to follow later.
They have a red glow behind the LED sockets...pictures don't do them justice.
Let me know your thoughts - has taken me a while to get used to them.
Cheers,
Chris

Fortunately though I didn't park the car last when that picture was taken
Although, I do sometimes park in two spots when I go to congested parking lots...refuse to foot the bill for someone else's carelessness/lack of common courtesy.

They have been discussed here before but no one was brave enough to buy them for fear that it wouldn't look good.
They look good with black.
I think these will look better tinted than the tinted stocks.

Your car is just bangin' dude.
I haven't seen those on an actual car yet (just a Euro Spec picture), so props to try them out. They are the best alternative to the stock look, for anyone looking to mod that I've seen yet on BLACK (although, tinting only the white part looks pretty decent I think, as well), but I think it's very color dependent. For example, I think it wouldn't look right at all on white.
On your car, it looks great though, and your whole car is just BOSS.

Also, I'm sure the Members here with black cars would appreciate what PRODUCT your using on that thing (or your upkeep methods). If those pictures aren't altered, then that thing looks insanely vibrant and wet black. Also, is your car lowered or on the stock ride height?

Haven't seen these before. Looks different...
I'm looking at your pics for the third time and I still can't get used to them.
Are they really from MB?
I think they would look great with a very light tint.
Waiting for the night shots

two night shots (****ty result) and one early morning shot...but you get the idea
The hue behind the LED cells is red, not yellow or orange...no idea how the camera picked up that color.

To be honest, I have no idea...one of my guys cleaned my car yesterday and waxed it as well.
We use standard yellow wax with orbital machine + pad...other than that, it gets a spray-down of quick wax every once in a while...the product is as liquid as water, requires some shaking prior to application, and is pink...spray on, immediately wipe off.
Will look into the brand of the stuff tomorrow if I have time, if not it will have to be late next week as I am going to Stuttgart Friday
Car is not lowered, stock height...wish I could though - unfortunately no solution available for 4Matic E350's
Cheers,
Chris

I must say that I was as shocked when I received the notice on availability...totally unlike MB to do cool things like this - that being said, glad to see them moving in this direction. Will buy factory over after-market all day long (price must be reasonable too).
