Sorry to brind this back but what's the right pipe size for 2012 w212. I know the size for w204 xpipe is 2.25" ...is it the same or 2.5"?

...I did not do the X pipe, replaced the large resonator with 2 straight pipes. A little more growl under acceleration. May do the 2 bubble resonators when I put it back on the road next Dec. I did the exact mod on my CLK550 and it was perfect...

Cat delete.
%101 you should have deleted the cat. On my 88 fox body mustang 5.0 I had a high flow cat system on it by BBK right. Sounded really good. But let me tell you this. When I went with the off road BBK straight pipes no cats. The car sounded a world of difference. Not a little different. Like a totally different sounding car. If you want the true sound and to be honest with you, this goes for all cars around the world. Any car that drives on the road.
"IMPORTANT". Any stock exhaust on any car right.. I'm stressing this fact to kingdom come. All you need to do is delete the catalytic converter I didn't say "cat" because I want everyone to know how important this is and the emphasis im putting on this and how serious I'm being about just deleting your cat on any stock exhaust car. You will get a totally awesome sounding car with penny's on the dollar for what you paid for that exhaust you have on your Benz. It looks expensive let me tell you. I'll bet it was $1000+! And I'll bet it came with high flow cats. All the sound in your car is bottled up at the catalytic converter. Think about an open exhaust straight pipes form the headers. Im sure all you have heard the term "open headers". Think about how open headers sound. On any car. 4 cylinder or 6 or 8. It don't matter. It sounds nasty wickedly awesomely loud right. Think about that sound going though your exhaust and being bottled up by that dam cat. For real thou. It's really what makes that beautiful sound with any stock exhaust car. Again think about that " OPEN HEADER " sound going through that exhaust but now with a straight pipe. Even with a resignator it will sound wicked with a stock muffler.
My wife's car is a stock 2005 C320 and me and my buddy are going to take off the cats and weld a straight pipe up to it. Going to rig it up somehow. But do it the right way ya know. NOTE: I highly would not recommend this but I guarantee with just the stock mufflers it has on it with the stock resignators will sound 100 times better and louder than it did before. Most likely a heck of a lot better than this guys car wth this $1500 exhaust for a louse hour or 2 or elbow grease. LoL. I know and can relate to exactly what this guy is talking about. I feel bad for him in a sense. Cause he went out spent a **** load of money and got an exhaust that sounds like someone barfed in a barff bad on a gosh darn air plane. LoL. I guarantee this is what that car sounds like. It's all a gimmick. This is a DIY ordeal for a lousy 2 hours of your time working underneath your car on the exhaust. How bad could it be. Right! I guarantee it. %101 guarantee it! I can't wait to here the car with a stock muffler. Won't have to change a dam thing and just enjoy that nasty wicked sound it's going to produce. I can't wait!! And on top of it. That coupled with a brand new K&N air filter will produce with no tune on 93 octane a good 15-20 Horsepower to the rear wheels. Guaranteed. So stock is like 210-220?? maybe?? You might get a good 240-250 horsepower out of it by and I hence this "releasing the gods" by chopping of the cats. We all know that NA naturally aspirated cars work strictly on air flow. First thing you do to get immediate HP is air flow right. Think exhaust first thing. That's what everyone does. The air filter. BooM! Release the gods by cutting the cats and a K&N and boom. Free air flow and BooM. +25HP GUARANTEED Boys!!!!! Oh last thing. My E46 M3 I had was stock except the exhaust. No cats race headsers. Stock resies and a K&N air filter no tune. I ran a 12.8 quarter mile at the island drag way in New Jersey at 109 Mph! No lie. I'm done guys!
God Bless you all. Good luck to you all in the future with your new project on your stock exhaust on your moms Ford Tarus! Hahahahahhaa! 👍
