Aftermarket rear side door sun shades
)I've had tints on my front windows on all my cars, and the only one I ever had a problem on was my Mustang GT back in the day, but I think it's 'cause that car called for attention more (aggressively modded and loud). My E is definitely a popping car and draws its own kind of attention, but it's more of a welcome attention, i.e it's not boasting "look at me", therefore as long as I steer clear of getting pulled over, I hopefully should maintain not having problems with the front tints.
Sure would love to know how to make them because I need some for the front side windows but no one makes them.
The construction is really sturdy and solid. The shade fabric is thick just like MB's oem rear shade; unlike those thin, near-transparent material from generic sunshades you find at Wally world. The frames are thick and sturdy. Yes, they also come with a zippered black bag with handle for storage. I believe all are manufactured in the UK.
The fit is really good, just like the pix posted by BMW1203, and definitely looks better than the oem pull up side shades. I put on the clips into the intended cleft and they are secure, allowing me to open and close the windows and doors without any shade movement. Just remember those clips go between the the rubber sealing strip or velvety rubber sealing strip and the plastic body panel; not between the glass and the body panel (also stated on vanstyle's website in response to one user's comment about wobbling sunshade)
I have the rear power sun shade. However, I figure I would put the rear window shades on (might as well use them since I paid for them). The fit is good. But it's so tight it's difficult to have them exactly edge to edge at the center. If you push too hard, the shade fabric gets distorted and you will see shadow on the fabric. So I took out the "aligning" clip in the middle and just left them overlap because the end result is not very noticeable. Even with the overlap, it wouldn't interefere with the power rear shade. Now I have the choice of making the rear window even darker with the push of the rear power sun shade.

Overall, I'm very satisfied with the result.

Click on the link in E500benzo's post near the top of this page. Another person has provided some useful info on modifying the shade to fit the front door window as well as putting up quite a few pictures, too. I have also just put up some info on how I plan to make the front window shades. My only problem now is finding the sunshade fabric that is similar to Privacy Sunshade's fabric.
Privacy Sunshades definitely provide better coverage and also look better than the oem ones.

Glad to hear you like them. They fit well, ehh?! I installed the rear window panels even though I have the auto rear shade. Now I have the choice of making it super dark. It's nearly impossible to see inside from the rear window when both shades are up.
It's 34.5 British Pounds for shipping to me in Indiana (near Chicago). The person quoted me slightly higher shipping charge on the phone, but honored the 34.5, which was quoted to me via phone by the general manager. Overall, they are very prompt and friendly. Definitely a good business for me to return to in the future.

Have you tried carshades.com.au? I think I had mentioned that earlier and they did have something (I think) for the W211 E-class. However, I don't see that today. Maybe they are running out of stock.

I guess I got lucky with my e-mail to them since I got a reponse promptly from the manager. Who knows, maybe the manager is the one checking the e-mail and he's on vacation or something. I ordered via their website but didn't hear from anyone with a shipping quote for a week; that's when I just picked up the phone and call. Yes, I would just call them. It's much faster that way. Just google UK time when you call.
