Funny you should mention that, a buddy and I are going to try and get a group discount on vinyl to black out the chrome areas... let me know if you want to try and meet up, more cars = more discount maybe? hopefully...

Not bad, it was a bit noisy at first, hopefully that was just the new first layer of the tires, but we will see with time.

So 245/35-20 might still be possible on 20x9 wheel, but not on 20x8.5.
Would be great to hear from FTB if he sees any gap/space between tire and pearch (unless of course that pearch was modified, then this whole argument goes out the window, as there's pleanty of room for this tire size except for that pearch).

If you do switch to 245/35-20, would love to hear from you if the fitment was successful.
I am running 245/35/20 on a 20x8.5" wheel up front. No modifications and no rubbing whatsoever. E550 sport. I am using a very agressive offset, but the wheel does not stick out as you can see in the pictures.

Here is a link to my original post. And also, here is a link to the exe wheels web site. They used my car to test fit.

Only MBs - the best or nothing
Thank you , Jason.

The only explanation I can find is that the only people, so far, who successfully fitted 245/35-20 front tires are people with E550 sedans - airmatic suspensions.

I tried that size on E550 coupe and E350 rwd sedan, both with non-airmatic suspensions. Wheel had as aggressive offset as one can dare to try - ET32 and on both cars the top of the front tire was in constant contact with front pearch.

My buddy is using that config on an E350, but offsets are 43 in front and 53 in rear

With all due respect DNA, why didn't you then (since others say they use this size) choose 245/35-20 instead of 245/30-20, especially since you went with 275/30-20 rear? BTW, your car on those TSWs look stunning, regardless of tire size.

IMO, 245/30 provides no sidewall at all, and since in my experience 245/35 did not properly fit, I had no choice but to stay with 19" 255/35 & 285/30. But again, its a free country, and that's the beauty of it.

I was afraid to try those since my car is lowered. If I did not drop it, I would have probably felt more brave... but I was scared of the rubbing on full turn.

Thanks! Your car was the one that inspired me to powder coat my stock rims black. Ride is pretty smooth, most likely due to airmatic suspension... I've had 20's before on other cars and it was never this comfy.

Hah! I originally wanted concave mesh or 5 spoke wheels but decided to PC stock wheels instead, couldn't justify the cost, still love the mesh setup u got, you're pretty brave going 20 instead of 19, but I hear it's easier to find 20" tires than 19's. With 20's do you leave the airmatic on comfort

haha, also looking into getting my stock wheels powder coated......
price is 100 to strip, and 250 to coat with black......not sure about
gloss finish or matte, or if matte can even be done....

So it's $350 per wheel? That's kinda high.

oh, ok, well in that case, it sounds cheap, maybe even too cheap. I paid $700 but they also installed my new sidemarkers and painted my hood star black.
