scratched rim and 10k service

I scratched my left rim this evening trying to hug the curve to avoid door dings on my right. Should I just take it to the dealer, or is there a cheaper method of repair. Also curious as to how much your dealer charged you for 10K service?

If it is not too bad, I would probably just live with it. Depending on the scratch, it can probably be repaired, but, not sure what the turn around time would be. If you get a lot of snow where you are, You might consider having a set of snow tires mounted on your current rims and just a set of good summer tires mounted on new rims. I feel for you. Self inflicted damage always feels crappy.

There are some great rim repair curbside service co's, normally the dealerships use these guys to provide this repair. I used one once and they did a decent job, they first sand down the area, prime, paint then clear via air brush and then polish, took about 45 mins total.
Trust me you may not want to watch them do this as the sanding part is hard to watch. I agree if it's not too too bad let it go.

I recently had my first A service.....
it was 333 bux!!!
170 for the A, 60 for a rotation and 100 for the alignment.....which of course I was out of.......and had a tire wear unevenly.......
that was a frustrating visit.......

my feeling exactly, i didn't "not" want to do something the car actually needed. I just crossed my fingers and hoped he wasn't taking me for a ride

If they were changing the timing belt, it was good advice to have the water pump replaced at 105K. That was an expensive lesson I learned some time back. The cost of the water pump is minimal compared to the labor to get to it. While they had it apart, it was a simple job and you were good to go for at least another 105K miles.

Yes.. google it for Alloy wheel repair in your area. They normally a mobile service. They can even come to your house. The work it self will take less than an hour. It costs about $100-130. $160 will be total remanufactured from scratches/ minor damages. I paid about $105 for scratches and chipped caused by the car wash rail. Good luck.

Now I feel better paying for the 30K prepaid maintenance = $750.00.
That actual service cost is very expensive.

I just got my A Service done for $141! Cheapest price around here (had a Coupon).

Brake flush is RIDICULOUS. Problem is, if you bought Used, they know they have you, since you don't know how the previous owner was. If they told me that I'd tell them they're insane, since I know I haven't rode the car hard enough to need that.

I was not able to find a wheel repair service in this small Missouri town. I actually went to the local Cadillac dealer in town because the nearest MB dealer is in Saint Louis 2 hours away. They did not have a vendor for their customers for scratched rims. I would think those CTSv and Escalade owners would Want wheel repair services as well. Long story short the service department looked at me as if i was OCD and could not help. I went to autozone found fine sandpaper and actually matched up a Volkswagen touch up paint that was dead on for the color of the alloy rims. After sanding i applied the touch up paint with several coats and it turned out perfect. In small towns sometimes you just have to do it yourself. I will however make the trip to saint louis or memphis to get service A, as i dont trust these small town mechanics. Thanks for all the replies. BTW this town is so small i have the only 212. Someone else has a 220. Thats about it. Its cadillac and lincoln country out here.
