Rear View Camera and Audio...WTF?
OK so maybe I'm an old fart but I rarely listen to music when I'm motoring around town. Long trips, yes, I'll crank some tunes but local drives I prefer to hear the purr of the exhaust as well as what's going on around me. Maybe that comes from bicycling where I depend on my ears quite a bit.
Anyway, whenever I throw the car into reverse, the rear view camera fires up and so does the audio. If my iPhone's in the car, it's bluetooth. Or the SAT radio comes on. WTF? How can I keep audio off when the camera comes on?

Not particularly good advice if you want, say, the NAV on.
Some of us have issues with spontaneous unmuting:

Yours sounds less spontaneous than mine -- at least there is a pattern!

Turning the radio volume down does not turn the nav volume down. The nav has an independent volume that can be adjusted while it is speaking.

I stand corrected, and that is very good advice! (Sorry, rereading my earlier response makes it seem somewhat curt, which I did not intend.)

Turning the volume down doesn't seem like a very elegant solution. There's really no reason for audio to commence just because the rear view camera kicks in. There must be a setting somewhere that can be utilized.
Thanks for the unmute link though. That's been my solution so far but it doesn't stick -- just like in the unmute thread. Oh well. I still enjoy the car!

I just select one of the audio features I don't use. This leaves the navigation on and the volume on for when I do select an audio function. As you probably have learned, if you turn all audio off, the camera does not work.
