Smile Available E550 tone-on-black interiors

From what I understand the luxury edition is no longer offered on the E550, due to
a fitment issue with the smaller luxury wheels and the newly enlarged brakes on the E550.

Five tone-on-black leather interiors are available on the E550 for MY11:

Black/black, Almond/Black, Ash/Black, Chestnut Brown/Black & Natural Beige/Black

PLUS seven designo tone-on-black Nappa leather interior packages:

designo Sand leather
designo Platinum White leather
designo Saffron Beige leather
designo Mystic Red leather
designo Auburn Brown leather
designo Black leather
designo Light Brown leather

Yes, if you have a 12V charger. I have one for my phone but not for my camera batteries or my laptop. They require 115V A/C.

There is a 12V outlet in the Glovebox as well.

What you get with the luxury version is essentially an all black interior with a gray roof and seats the color of your choice. The doors are all black with small inserts the same color as the seats.

It looked tacky to my wife and I, that's why we went with black leather. The interior IS too dark and I don't like the black carpeting. It shows dusty footprints in Arizona.

It's U.S. dealers that are telling MBUSA to keep the options down. As for the all black interiors, I think that was a Mercedes decision because, if I remember correctly, England got all black as well.

I guess we were lucky to still get the 2011 E350 luxury version with all ash. The dashboard is a bit darker gray color but the doors, carpet, roof lining etc is all ash. Makes the car look very light / bright inside. The only black part is the carpeting in the trunk and I guess thats a good thing.

Here is another pic of the inside, I need to take some pics in a day both front and back of the cabin.

Thanks, looks much better with the gray floor mats. This pic had the black ones as it was a 'gift' from the sales person and that's the only color they had in stock also in a day light its much brighter. The only bad thing is the ash carpet in the rear where the kids sit but guess one has to live with that

Yes, the E350 & E350 BlueTec will still be available in both luxury (single tone interior) & sport (tone on black interior) trims.

Go to MBUSA and build a car of the model you are interested in and select the interior color you want. Then click on the photo of the interior that will be shown and you can see what it will look like. In every case, the dash, most of the door paneling and carpeting is black.

Then download the 2011 E-Class brochure and have a look at the Almond/Mocha interior. That's what I wanted but it was no longer available in 2011.

The MBUSA site has always shown the sport trim in the configurator & never the luxury trim. I've seen the Almond/Mocha interior.

Here is a MY11 E550 luxury sedan (EPC states 6/15/10 delivery?) with the Almond/Mocha interior.

So do you in fact have a luxury model with sport interior?

It doesn't make sense that they would all of a sudden change the luxury interior to sport & still keep both models.
Of course now for MY12 the luxury model is officially gone (only on E550) due to the brake issue I mentioned earlier, just wasn't sure
if this was a running change which effected earlier cars.

I have a Luxury E550 ordered on 2/2/2011. I wanted the Almond/Mochas interior shown in the brochure but it was no longer available after the end of 2010. I know the photo in the brochure is of a Sport model but it doesn't make any difference. That color combination was available for the Luxury model in 2010 and went away in 2011.
