You can buy a 2003 CL500 for 15K now, maybe even less, talk about depreciation, you can spend the same amount of money during time leasing 2-3 CL500/550's all the while getting new cars with warranty/worry-free driving and as most leasers do, tax-deduct a portion of the car's payment.

The notion that buying is better than leasing is an uneducated argument.
a brand new lease on cl550 will cost you 5-10k down and atleast 1k/month on a lease . a 2 yr lease you will have spent over 30k to drive a 100k car for 2 yrs .. to the millionare thats not a problem to the rest of world , doesnt sound so economically smart , Id buy that cl500 for 15k rock it for 2 yrs and prob still sell it for 10-13 two years later ..

Some co's will let you add it on later but many will only allow it at inception ie Lexus. Some co's even give you a small credit if you say paid for 15k per yr and at lease end had only 20k ttl; I don't know if this still happens with BMW but it did at one point in time. If you want more miles I'd get on the horn with MB and your dealer first thing Monday a.m.

Yeah, that's what I'm gonna do. From what I've heard, "M-B lets you buy it at anytime", but that doesn't sound right. I hope it is!

Even worse is the amount of times I've heard..."my wife drives one of those"...only in Beverly Hills/Westside would an E350 be considered a lady's car!

I called MB financial on my C300 about buying more miles and yes you can buy more anytime but at the $.25 rate on your lease contract, no discount. Basically instead of paying a lump sum at the end of the lease, they giving you to privilege to pay for those additional miles over the lease term...how nice of them

Yeah, E's have always been the upscale Suburban "Housewive" car, ever since I can remember (W124, W210, W211, W212). The cars are just appealing, you can't discredit them for that, and it's hard, but I try not to let it ruin my ownership experience. The W212 is just a masculine, "non housewife" looking car in the essence of its design and character, it's so funny to see these little old ladies driving them around.

When I got my first W212, I took it to the shop to get it all tinted up. Some kid in a Jeep goes "Damn, those new E's are so nice! How do you like it? My Mom just got one and it's sweet!". I was like "ehhh". Lol.

Wow, so that extra you pay a month is for .25 a mile? That sucks! I thought they gave you a better option. Makes my decision making process a bit more difficult.
