18 x 8.5 and 18 x 10: offsets and designs

guys, i just traded in my 2008 for a 2011.

i love the ride of the 18 inchers and will definitely stick to this size as I don't want the ride to get harsher..... cost is also a consideration.

anyway, i love my stock wide five spoke rims, but i just wish the rears were concave to show off the staggered setup.

that being said, i want to replace my wheels with 18 x 8.5 and 18 x 10 starggered concave rims.

first off: what are the ideal tire sizes. i don't want the stretched look, so tires have to be wide enough for the rims

second: what are the best offsets for the above rims and tire sizes given that i want to be as flush with the side of the car as possible without sticking out. I would rather be tucked in a hair rather than sticking out.

Lastly: any recommended designs and wheels that fit the bill? 18 x 8.5/10, concave rear?

thanks you so much. i hope this thread will serve as information for other owners as well. i look forward to your input. here is a picture of my car.

There's some cool concave designs, just do a search maybe. I know Cor and 360 forged makes some. The ones I know of are 3 piece forged billet rims though and they get very costly since cost is a concern. You might look at some 1 piece designs that aren't forged but try to stick to name brands with good reputations. I'm not sure I've seen any 1 piece concave designs for our cars though.

definitely dont want to spend the really big bucks with the 3 pc forgeded brands.

looking at forgestars as a possibility. want to keep it at or below $400 per rim.

they have a deep concave option for the 18 x 19.......i think that would be Sweet in matte/brushed

opinions???

I'm not a wheel expert, so can offer little help in that regard.

Your indium grey looks fantastic!

thanks for the compliments on the color. yes, i was actually not sure about trading in my 08 for a 2011, but when i saw the indium grey w212 with the sport package, i fell in love. it took me two days to beat the dealer down, but i got what i wanted

based on my research, my current tires are a direct fit onto the 18 x 8.5/10. well, rear could be a little wider at 275, but since the rears wear out faster, i will just move to 275s when the rears are ready to be replaced. 265s will have to do for the meantime.

anybody know the flush offset (don't want to stick out) for the 18 x 8.5/10 setup?

thanks,

andy

okay, so far this is what i have come up with..... correct me if i am wrong

18 x 8.5 et 35 (maybe 40.... worried 35 might stick out too far)
18 x 10 et 50 (basing this on info that on 9.5, 48 is the right offset, so in need to come in a little for 10?)

opinions? information?

thank,s
