new color display on my 2011 E350 4M
Just picked up a 2011 E350, production date was 6-11 and it has the new colored dispay on the instrument cluster.

It is funny how a "used to be" reputable car company like Mercedes Benz treats people who buy an early production model year car worse than the ones buying it later. I don't think the dollars I spend for my car are any less value to them than the dollars someone spends almost a year later yet the late buyers get better car for the same model year.
If I had time I would take this to courts as I don't think it is all the way legal to call a car the same model year make with so different parts/features.
I'm sick of this all.

Some people will say that it's "good that M-B is constantly updating models" but I disagree.
The tech is there early on, but they obviously hold out until they can release stuff like the LED headlights, or the new LCD display on upcoming cars as well (i.e CLS) while the E gets its share.
Usually, a car should come out with enough to keep it strong and relevant to remain the same, until it gets its facelift with all the changes. The fact that the W212 is getting like 2 major changes (so far) already in its lifecycle, is ridiculous IMO. Early adopters of the car got the shaft big time. Only thing the 2010'ers can boast about is an alarm chirp (I miss it).

I have nothing against new features in new model year car but I don't think it is correct behavior from MB or anyone else to provide more or better features in a car that is still called a 2011 model year car. It means that they now have two different 2011 E 350 cars on road and it means these cars will have different resale values. The new features in the late 2011 model year cars simply lower the value of the earlier ones and I don't think this is the correct way to treat your customers especially those who buy the car very early and pay the highest dollars for it. That's all.

M-B you can keep your 300 HP motor with better gas mileage, but WHY did you gip me on a color LCD when I bought the SAME damn model year, just a few months earlier build?!?!?! Lol.

E550Shopper, can you do me a favor and post up pics of how it looks when the radio station is on display, and trip/mpg indicator as well, when you get a chance? Those are where I keep mine at and I'm curious to see how it would look.
I guess I was invisioning something entirely different, mainly from the dissapointment everyone was muttering. I was thinking a color display much like our center color display but a round one. I don't see it as a ''gotta have item'', or a wow factor that this is really different. Cool though but I guess not a biggy in my book. Rather have the motor.

Looks nice, but doesn't seem to be a very big deal. I thought it was going to be much more colorful, like a Japanese style dash. Thanks. Ned.

oh, good that you know what you like.
