I love the car and yes 8 out of 10 W212 on the road I see are mature drivers. Most younger people are in a C300/350. Regardless, I love this car and can't be more happy with it!!!
As others mentioned, its a factor of cost (and to some degree common sense) that keeps most young people out of an E350 - has nothing to do with the car's demeanor or "stigma", etc.
Even if they were generally affordable for say people in their late teens / early twenties - the majority of people in that age group are just starting careers or finishing school - I sure wouldn't want to park my new Benz in "General Student Parking". I also wouldn't want buddies messing around in it and spilling the red-bull & Pringles they're using as study food. Mercedes don't make a good "living in it" car.
Even when you get a bit older - priorities can interfere - You want an E350 but getting the Ford (for the time being) allows you to pay for your first house.....etc.
