COMAND Online
I just ordered a 2012 E550A with build date 1st week of September. Does anybody know if I will get COMAND Online, i.e. the functionality to connect via my iPhones data connectivity to get traffic updates, google maps etc??

Hi Erling,
Most likely, you will get COMAND Online. the sad news is that it doesn't support Internet Data connectivity with iPhone.

Maybe they'll come out with an update to the iPhone that will support it? Would like to get teh ability where it reads out text messages as well as I can't seem to stop myself from texting and driving (I know its bad..)

Mercedes folks in the US are very confused....or perhaps I should say that depending on who you talk to, you get a different view. My situation is even worse...Mercedes insists that I have Comand 4.0 in my new e class BlueTec, but it was built in July and they built it with Comand 4.5....and the service manager at my dealer agrees...it is definitely Comand 4.5. (I have an SD slot on my dash, not a pcmcia slot....and the iphone connector is in the center console.
I do not have any option YET for internet connnectivity thru Comand, but I am hoping that it will be a runnning change. It should not require any hardware at all....what is required is the support of using my phone for data using DUN...and that's just software. So I am hopefully waiting for an update/upgrade.
