Yesterday, I saw that when my neighbor clicked the unlock button on his key fob a couple of times, the headlamps and LED's on his 2011 early build E350 came on. On my late build 2011, when I do that, only the LED's come on with the parking/standing lamps. Can anyone confirm that this is normal? We both have 2011's with only the P1 package so both of our headlamps are both halogen.

 

I just tried it And my headlights did not come on, just the leds and drl and side markers. My headlight switch is on Automatic.
I have a 3/11 build date.

 

If its dusk or dark the headlamps come on until you open the drivers door. Other than than that my lights flash but do not say on

 

The "late builds started in June or July with the new comand 4.5 system and more colorful dash. Otherwise, they are the same as the early e350's. The change was apparently made due to parts shortages tied to the Tsunami. It didn't change the way the lights work.

 

I have a 2010. When I click the unlock button on my key fob a couple of times not only do my headlamps, fogs and parking lamps come on but the lighting beneath both side mirrors come on as well, only when it's dark though.

 

I'm pretty sure this is controlled as an option on the instrument cluster. It is on my 2010 E550 and my wife's C300 anyway. Just hit the left-right scroll until you get settings and it should be one of the options. Turn it on.

 

I enabled all my light settings and its still not working...Why is it that some of our headlamps come on when we unlock our cars? I wish my headlamps came on when I unlocked the car at night!

 

I feel ya. I too would like to know the magic key that enabled this for me. I asked in another thread. I only stumbled on it after clicking my keyfob button twice.

 

My '10 does all if switch is on "A" and it is dark, e.g. in garage or at night. In daylight, only the normal "unlock" lights come on.
