350 smells

350 smells
My '10 e350 developed a foul odor from the vents. I took it to the dealer and they agreed. They replaced the cabin air filter under warranty. It has fixed the stink for now but I am worried it may come back. The car only has 15k miles and I've had it about a year. Anyone know how to access the cabin air filter on these cars? I am thinking I may want to spray some disinfectant on it from time to time. Anyone else have this problem?

If changing out the filters has resolved it, it is likely that the filters were fouled. I would be fine if replacing the filter fixed it. It will come back over time when the filter needs to be replaced again.

The HVAC system has developed a bit of mold somewhere. If it comes back then it wasn't just on the cabin filter. The dealership should use a product like Frigi-Fresh to clean it and kill all the crud.

I'll keep you all post as to how long it stays away. The car was only in service about 10 months when the problem first came up. Long before the filter needed to be replaced.
