I'll bite...what is an RVC trailer and how is that linked to getting the internet to work?
I continue to wonder why I want internet on comand since I already have it on my iphone (or android device)...but the tech hacker in me wants to get it to work just so I can see it work.

The RVC trailer shows dynamic guidelines on the ML suv and shows additional lines if a trailer is attached. I tried enabling it, but none of the lines showed up in the RVC or rear view camera. I also tried changing the compass display to an SUV one, but it didn't work. I also set the audio settings so that I could only adjust the balance, but for some reason I could still adjust the fader. I also changed a few other things, but when I went back to the normal COMAND interface, none of the changes I made in HU Parameters were made.
After you change the settings, is there a code that you need to press to apply the settings or do you need to reset the system after you shane the settings?
I really wanted to enable the hybrid consumption display in the settings menu on the COMAND screen, so I enabled the display in HU parameters, but it didn't work. Once again, what am I missing?

So my main issue was tethering on the verizon BB. I had the tethering feature enabled on my device but for some reason, i needed to first connect it to my computer and establish the first connection from a computer. I did this using bluetooth on my computer and the VZ Manager software.
After that connected, i knew everything was setup correctly on my device and bluetooth.
Once you enabled the internet on Command, i needed to create a new service provider connection. Settings are the following for Verizon:
Provider: Verizon
Tel #: #777
username: cellnumber@vzw3g.com
password: vzw
DNS: Auto
From that, everything should work.

I am talking with Mercedes HQ on this topic and Mercedes HQ Telematics group insists that there is no connectivity built in to comand 4.5 and there won't be connectivity available until mid 2012.
However, their response would seem to be wrong since at least one person has gotten comand to work with their verizon phone using the built in DUN support in their android phone. I still don't have my android phone, so I can't try it.
I think we all know it won't work with the iphone...that's not the issue here.
Has anyone else tried enabling DUN and the browser in comand 4.5's engineering menus and then establishing connectivity with the internet??

This is either funny or sad. The US telematics product manager insists that the function is not in US cars....it is not something that can just be enabled.
I can accept that they made a marketing decision not to enable it...although I am curious as to why....but I don't accept when the product manager doesn't understand their own product.
So take your pick.....funny or sad
I wonder if those of us who received comand 4.5 in our 2011's got a different software build than the 2012 cars??? I don't think my dealer would let me play with a new 2012 e350 just to see if the internet and browser are still there. Maybe there is a US build of the comand 4.5 software now.
