Car wax
Just applied the turtle wax black box product on my black '10 E350 with about 15k miles an about a year in service. I have to say I was pretty happy about the result. No swirl marks, my biggest fear, and a deep gloss that made the car look wet. Don't know how long the finish will last but so far I am pleased with the result of the effort. Any one else have experience with this product? For now I would give it a thumbs up.

I use primarily Menzerna polishes (SIP and FF106FA) and Meguiar's (105/205 polishes) and I like the Megiar's NXT 2.0 wax/sealant. I find the NXT sealant has a pretty good life and it is perfect for my high-use daily driver E350 Bluetec. I use both a Flex 3401 DA and a Griot's DA for polishing and wax/sealant application. Unbeatable.

I'l try and post some pix when I get a chance. This was a bit of work as I did it by hand. I am a bit afraid, should be read as paranoid, of using power applicators and creating swirl marks. This is my first black car you see
Even with the three bucket wash method and a blower for drying I still managed to get some minor swirl marks. From what I can tell, the cleaner provided with the product removed the light swirl marks that had cropped up over the past several months I have had the car. Even in direct sunlight, the finish looked new. Except for the freaking stone chips. The fact that the cleaner and polish leave no white powdery residue helps a lot. I will be curious to see how long the polish lasts. I will try and get some pix that do it justice.

Thanks for the min review. Lots of great products out there and it seems the mix keeps getting better as technology is passed around. Which is better...kinda like the MB vs BMW argument....which btw MB wins hands down. ![Big Grin](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)
Folks have their favorites and can be very loyal to them. Glad you found something that works for you and look forward to hearing about the longevity of shine / beading / etc...

Because swirl marks are tiny scratches, they need to be removed mechanically using power tols. A hand polish cannot remove the swirls but the product you use may fill them in so they are not visible.
Don't be a afraid of devices like a Porter Cable. They can do a better job, much faster and use far less product.

E550 Coupe
I posted a similar thread on the E-Class Coupe forum about a year or so ago.

I was very pleased with how it worked. But now a year older and many swirl marks greater, I will put this stuff to the test. I plan on waxing the car this weekend (in prep for the winter) so I will take a few close-up before & after photos for everyone.

Lasts in my experience (in Florida heat) about 2-3 mos, whereas I never reached 2 mos of durability with Meguiars NXT 2.0.
Nice gloss with little effort to apply and remove. Does not whiten trim, so it makes waxing faster (do not have to mask off trim or pretreat). Very thick, a little goes a long way!

Thanks steelgrey, I appreciate the suggestions. I also use microfiber drying towel. Hopefully I will have the luck you have had. I usually always buy dark grey metallic colors. That was not available to me on this car. I love the black and don't mind caring for it. I just know that these dark colors are very unforgiving.
