Why are you so impartial to diesel?

Solid and quiet ride. That said, if MB would bring the C250 CDI here, I would definitely consider that too.
Genesis would be the PERFECT "work-horse" long distance beater, indeed. A "poor mans" Benz. I'd really consider one, as I need something to start doing my long distance drives (about one or two more drives away from getting sick of driving my E.... I get really sick of cars that I drive a lot), but I feel that it would be a boring addition, considering I already have a Luxury Sedan.

threeMBs, I just like the power and economy of a diesel. Always have. While my E350 BT gives up a half second or 0-60, the feeling of the torque gives the vehicle a feeling more akin to a big V8. Highway passing I find is superior and effortless. Had a 2005 Passat diesel. Same basic "unstoppable" feeling. Feels like you could pull your house behind it. With a diesel you drive the torque. It spoils you. The 42 mpg I am regularly getting on the highway isn't to shabby either.

I got a brand new c-250 with 6 miles yesterday and I fell in love with the turbo charger.
Having the W211 and coming to the 212 I miss the low end torque the car had, wish the new 2011's had turbo charger.

Granted, I've never driven a diesel E350, but I'm surprised by above.

Are you saying (based on 0-60 1/2 sec gas car advantage, which is big) that gas engined E350 is faster from the stand still, but diesel engined E350(because of its superior torque) is faster (or feels faster) i.e. 50-70?

I mean E350 BT has more torque that E550 (pre-2012), but let me assure you its nowhere close in accelaration. Highway passing in E550 is immediate and is breathtaking (I can only imagine what AMG engined cars are capable of).

I can only tell you to go take a test drive. The perception I get from the diesel cars I have owned is one of seamless power. I do not know what the stop watch results would be 50-70. I can tell you that my last loaner was an E350 4Matic. under pedal to the metal conditions I believe the gasser is faster. Under all other conditions the BT feels more powerful. And, yes, passing seems far more effortless at highway speed to me than the E350 gasser. Not faster per se. It just presses you into the seat with more authority. Take a test drive and I am pretty sure you will see what I am talking about.

Try Greg at Keyes. Mention that the Guptas recommended him. He;'s the manager and always gives additional discounts in addition to the coupons you may have. Funny, I was at Encino yesterday afternoon trying to get an estimate on my windshield!

I never pay for service, I just need a service adviser that accepts the problems and doesnt brush it off as "ohh that kick is normal, its a new feature in the transmissions" type of BS.
