Garage door opener loses memory any recent updates
After 2 years of ownership this problem started appearing in my car and it is really annoying. I know it is common problem of first year production of W212, not properly designed unit so dealers change mirror. Did somebody do such fix recently? Any bad words about new mirror? Old one has buttons for controlling compass, and I heard new one doesn't. Any other differences?
Another question how long this job done? Can they replace mirror while you wait?

interesting....i have a 2010...no issues yet....KNOCK ON WOOD!!
maybe it has nothing to do with the homelink feature...try checking your car battery. Is it fully charged?

My BMW pairs nicely with my house, my sister's house (both post 2k builds) but refuses to post with one side of my mom's garage doors. It pairs up with the newly replaced opener but not with the 1984 original opener on the other side.

Re; the compass setting
RE: controlling the compass.
The 2011 E550 does not have the button for calibrating the compass, as described in the manual.
Instead of the button on the right, it has a recessed button in a small hole on the left. You operate it with a paper clip. Works as described.
